I hooked up the battery from my Guzzi and it’s the same deal. I’ve already checked the side stand switch. No fault found. Nice idea though, lots of people forget about the side stand.

Re: R12S no ignition

must admit i think topcats on the right theme here, sounds like a broken wire with that sort of voltage showing. Have you tried turning bars from lock to lock with the ignition on to see if there is any difference with the movement? Shouldn’t be any cables although I know that it does happen. The b...

Re: R12S no ignition

Thanks TC. I’ve checked all the cables and connections and they seem ok. I’ll order a new micro switch unit and see what happens. I think this is a fairly common occurrence with ignition switches in general.

R12S no ignition

Or dash or lights or starting. Just before Xmas I went to start the bike and the starter motor stayed on. I have recently changed the starter cluster as the old one failed and would stick on. Used replacement has been fine until then. I left it to deal with this year and am now having a different pr...

Re: France and Switzerland in the heatwave

the joy of panniers... Nice video and trip Paul. I used panniers once on a long weekend to Wales. I hit two cars, a tree, a frame on the entrance of a perimeter wall and my mates bike in a similar fashion to Richards collision with you but I took his indicator off. Never again. I sold them on my re...

Re: Irregular tickover

Hmmm, I did the valve clearances some time back and it didn't make any difference for me. I don't have any stalling. I think I might give the TPS a clout.

Re: Street fighter bars R1200S

I feel your pain, just back from 2480 miles from Nottingham to Pyrenees and back. Buttock bruises are still present. Got to say that the seat was the only real problem with the riding position for me although I think where the double bubble screen removes some wind blast, it also takes away the sup...

Irregular tickover

The last couple of times I’ve taken the 12S out, the tickover has been erratic. I’ve balanced the throttle bodies the last time I did the tappets (it was doing it a bit then as well) but appears to be a permanent fixture now. It’s fine when riding but as soon as I come to a stop it’s there. Would I ...

Re: Street fighter bars R1200S

Yeah, my butt definitely can’t do the distance these days, hence the Airhawk. The BM actually did me damage on my last trip and I recognise that sitting more upright shall exacerbate the situation but I am am very much preferring the upright bars these days. I’m considering a GS/Multistrada or R1200...

Re: Street fighter bars R1200S

Hey Phil, I remember when you were looking. Did you ever do it? The AC kit is quite a lot more cash than the LSL (although nicer I guess). I’m 1.7m and the reach is fine with the Helibars but I tend to lean into my tank bag when it’s on. I’m just trying to lose the weight on my wrists. I’ve spent th...

Street fighter bars R1200S

I really don’t want to sell the 12 but extended trips through Europe are starting to get uncomfortable. I’m going to get an Airhawk seat but am also now seriously considering a handlebar conversion. I’ve seen a few done in the past (I’d like the Wunderlich but unobtainable now) so shall probably go ...
