Re: BCR starting problem

Hi Folks, I have exactly the same symptoms as Rob described at the begining of this thread with my BCR. I have tried everything, including battery and starter motor replacement and the problem still persists. Before i give the bike to a dealer to resolve, are there any further pointers you guys may ...

Laverda 500 Alpino/Montjuic **SOLD**

Due to an unexpected business opportunity, I have reluctantly decided to sell my valued Laverda project bikes and spares to assist with the purchase. The first bike I am selling is my Laverda 500 Alpino/Montjuic based special. I had intended to use it on the road, but it would equally make a very go...

I guess it is still up for grabs ?

Strip off all the bling (extra decals look tatty IMO), sell the bling off separately and put the bike back to standard. Oh, and reduce the price !

If it sold for 8.5k, i will be polishing mine this weekend, if you know what i mean...

Had a chat Jon at Revs in UK earlier. The Wilbers 630 model is standard for the front (no variants), but there are 3 options for the rear, depending on adjustability, these are the 640, 641 & 643. Think Mitch has posted up the range topper 643. Need to get rider weights to Revs, so will advise w...

Suspect they could be rebuilt, but the quality of the Wilbers is more superior to the stock OEM items.

The OEMs have been on the bike since I bought it new in 2004, so past there best.

Re: Wilbers - BCR

One of you clever lot will probably know the answer to this, without me trawling the previous threads.. Has anyone fitted a set of Wilbers to a 2004 BCR ? If so, would you know what part numbers were used ? Need to change the standard shocks as they are passed their best, so interested to know your...

the one on my Funduro failed due to salt and crud. I simply looped the wires leading to it Thanks, have thought about that (and may end up doing just that), but would like to go down the switch route first. Haynes reckon it is a simple circlip and removal, but that doesn't seem possible without rem...

Sidestand switch BCR

Has anyone had any issues with their sidestand switch on their bikes ? I have an '04 BCR (owned from new) and have been very lucky with reliability in the 11 years i have owned it. However, i believe the sidestand switch is playing up, as the bike sometimes cuts out when the sidestand is down and th...

Lovely images Nigel.

Interested to know what they (MCN) thought of the mods. Not read the article, due to a current assignment abroad.

Congrats for getting your efforts into print.

So, not an easy blinking job then  Nige is, of course, correct. The cranking ability of the standard battery with a hot engine is not great. In the early days of ownership, i had a problem with the bike cutting out regularly - when hot - and then of course, was a bugger to re-start. Thumbing t...
