Re: Hibernation

Last ride for me was 20th December although so if our group went in on 24th and the 28th. Looking forward to getting out on Sunday - forecast is dry, partly sunny and a high of 4c. With all the current rain there will be no salt left in the roads so if it doesn’t get cleaned for a day or two it won’...

Re: Hibernation

I haven’t been out for a couple of weeks but as I do most of my riding with a local club (average age about 65 ) and we tend to keep riding all year unless it’s really freezing or snowing. I guess between early Nov and end of Feb we may miss 7 or 8 rides. My GS has a recall and it’s going in on 20th...

Moving on

After one of our bike club members finally hung up his helmet to the big C I have bought his bike. A 2018 R1200 GS Raylle TE. My affair with flat twins continues since starting with an R80RT then an 1100S followed by two R1200ST’s and lately an R1200RT. . This means my RT will be available - it has ...

Re: Tank gripper pads

When I fitted to my 1100s I used clear grip pads from “Stompgrip”. Search eBay for stompgrip Nhs you should find them.

Another milestone

As my R1200RT has now passed another minor milestone, 43,000 miles clocked on yesterdays ride out with Dengie100MCC (find us on Facebook) 15 bikes out yesterday.
It’s time to post up some pics (post salt removal).

I know, a new garage and drive way should be happening this spring.

Re: Retirement.

Hi guys we bought Green flag to cover me in all vehicles two cars one bike we also bought European cover. When I called them from France it seems that the only car that is covered in Europe is my main (named) vehicle - and that is that case you find it buried in the small print. Would have been chea...

Retirement.

So I’ve not posted for about two years as I retired just as Covid came along (Feb 2020) I’ve still got my R1200RT (2009). We managed very little riding in 2020 but in 2021 we got as far as Wales in May but I rode home early to Essex to get myself admitted to hospital with another Pulmonary Embolism ...

I too am new to the phrase “wankspangle”. Is it similar to a “Cockwomble”?

Re: "Is it Spring Yet?"

Our Club does not really have a season - we've has 6 rides out since Christmas (between 6 and 10 bikes at at time) although this Sunday is looking a bit flaky due to Storm Ciara. Wrap up warm and make sure you clean the bike afterwards - I hose mine down and use a wash mitt and brush and then dry wi...

Re: Norton no more

I did always worry about the amount they were spending on a T.T. bike and highly priced exotic specials when they should have been ploughing into production bikes that many more people could afford.

Winter Rides

So the bike press seem to think Riding is confined to a "Season". Our Club (look us up on Facebook) Dengie100MCC. Does not have a season. we have had some cracking rides since Christmas including 10 of out yesterday for a ride from Maldon in Essex to Krazy horse t Bury St Edminds. https://...
