Re: Rough running R12S

Is it possible to directly insert videos from youtube with a player window? Never the less: Video of the bike cutting out Video of the bike's poor idling My bike has done both of these things. One of the cures seemed to be adjusting the micro switch for the clutch lever. I found even if it sounded ...

Re: Rough running R12S

If my bike still has the problem in the springtime, I'll try swapping one stepper motor at a time out of my HP2 to see if I can find the culprit.
I did check the parts fiche and HP2/12S steppers have the same part number.

Re: Rough running R12S

If it's completely dead then you can feel that it's not working by putting your finger on it. Possibly other mechanical problems with it could be determined this way. If one side's cylinder is running rough perhaps you can hear it as well, I'm not sure whether or not an IR temp reading would reveal...

Re: Rough running R12S

If the problem is a stepper motor, how do you determine which side it is?

Good right up guys!

Re: Rough running R12S

So to fix this, you replaced a stepper motor? One or both?
Please recap what the bad stepper motor did to indicate it was faulty.

Re: Rough running R12S

Mine would feel like it ran on 1 1/2 cylinders whenever it wanted to......no real reason as to why or when?? Sometimes all I had to do was just shut it off and restart and all would be fine. As far as I remember, coils and plugs were the main culprits described on the Pelican forums. I'm not much he...

That is pretty nice, but I think I would re-work the arc of the headers!

Re: R Nine T Racer ..... want !!!!

The red frame and stripes on the wheels ruin it........they should have stayed black or maybe orange, but not red!
I agree with Herb........12S is the better of the two!

Re: R1200S Startup Rattle

Mine does the same, and so does my HP2, especially after they have been sitting over the winter.
I don't really worry about it.

I kinda like the Smuggler. Can you post pictures of the interior please?

I did not know they made a smuggler for the 12S so I bought a Hattech rack and use a couple of different Kreiga bags depending on how much crap I carry.

Lots of GS's on ADVRider with blown final drives.

Are you sure it's the final drive bearing and not a loose wheel/wheel flange??

Did you have the recall done on the wheel flange?
