I'd liked the look of the S since I saw one at the TT in 2000, but I was in denial, I just was'nt old enough.......yet. But every time I saw one, the yearning grew inside me, until eventually I asked for a test ride, and that was it, I'd been boxered! :D

If your looking at a new bike, then I'd have to agree with you Gromit, but a used 1150GS with S wheels takes some beating, my mate has such a beast, and I can't keep up with him on the twistys,(thats not saying much, I know) and it tours very well as long as you're not a ton up tourer.

Huw, I managed to get a replacement cradle for the car from Garmin, all dealt with by email, they where quick to respond, but the cradle took 3 weeks to arrive, and they did'nt want my old one back, so I may butcher that for bike mounting purposes.

Al, are you talking 'bout bending your sidestand

with the abba stand, you first attach the right hand side, then offer the left side up, then lift the bike upright, tha abba stand will kick up your sidestand as you raise it with the lever on to the stand.

I have had two pairs of bt 020, and cant fault them for grip and feel, even in the wet, but they do square of quickly. Now running pilot roads and very happy with them, although only done 2K on them so far.

I would let some other poor sap take the initial hit on depreciation, then pick one up next year when it starts to loosen up at around 12k miles and had all its recalls sorted.
