Re: R12S to GS to XR

Hi Dave, It was a strange problem. . . difficult to diagnose. I noticed it when commuting first, the roads in Edinburgh are awful and when I hit some rutted of uneven road I felt the bike shudder and lose it's composure. Worse if I was turning it would 'hop' off line. It seemed to work better when I...

Re: R12S to GS to XR

Yes, my to do list was becoming quite long. . .sorry about that. Quite embarrassing when you see jus how much it needed done.

The rear Ohlins has the extra preload adjustment cuff. I haven't seen that on any other R1200S.

Re: My R1200S project so far

My old bike. . . I covered about 42k of those miles. Very happy to see it in good hands and looking amazing! I knew it needed to go because I couldn't bring it back to life in the way you have.

Re: R12S to GS to XR

Scottie, I'm so interested. I can't begin to express how much I love that bike, I'm so happy it's gone to a good home and had some TLC! I've done some miles on it!

R12S to GS to XR

I sold my R12S about a year ago now, it was a sad day indeed but having bought a LC R1200GS running two bikes was becoming a problem. No reasonable storage options meant it had to go. . . The GS and I never really got along however. I seemed to have more than my fair share of gremlins which meant I ...

Re: Edinburgh bikers beware of gang of thieves

I commute into Edinburgh occasionally and I'm very thankful my work allows me to park in their underground and secure car park. . . I'd think twice before riding in and parking up else where. I've seen some of these scrotes riding about on scooters, two up and weaving in and out of traffic and runni...

Official R1200S Tankbag For Sale

Hi, It's been some time since I sold my R1200S so I think it's about time I moved this bag on too. . . I think they're pretty rare to come by so hopefully somebody here will find a use. It's in good used condition with a few minor scuffs and one zip tag missing. Hopefully the pics I've attached shou...

Bought EBC as replacements for my R12S, not as good as what was on it already, which I think was Brembo. They're not terrible but just not as strong and less feel. Doesn't help that my discs need replaced as well. So need to do the lot next time round.

Thanks of the advice.

Final drive has always been a worry and I'll be having fluids changed at my next service.

Hit the 40k mark. . .

Hi Guys, I've just gone beyond the 40,000 miles point on my R12S and (fingers crossed) it's has been brilliant so far with only a failed battery and O2 sensor issue. Not bad. However I can't look past the fact that for a bike that's a fair amount of miles. So I'm looking at what may need done to ens...

Is there any way of checking software version it's running without going to a dealer, via the display?. . .Being in Glasgow it's not that easy to just pop across to Edinburgh to have it checked these days.
