Re: Urgent information request

this sounds like the issue with the wiring loom near the head stock. I seem to think that the wires can break internally due to the movement of the bars - maybe check if the problem can be resolved by moving the wires around ?

Re: R1200s front pipes - Rarer than hens teeth or limited market?

I think there would fit as i had my cans fitted to the standard exhaust for a while. They retain the O2 sensors but as you say, eliminate the cat. I'm working next couple of days but will dig them out and try and post a picture or two. From my memory they are quite angular so might not be to everyon...

Re: R1200s front pipes - Rarer than hens teeth or limited market?

i have some HPE ones on which are more curvy than the Bos ones but i have bos carbon pipes (bought both through this site) on the back and got the new front ones to match but preferred / cant be bothered to swap the others - hence never fitted. Never sent anything abroad before - is it straight forw...

Re: R1200s front pipes - Rarer than hens teeth or limited market?

like you say its whether anyone out there wants to upgrade, even if its just to get rid of the cat. Probably put them back in the garage for another few year!

No shocks unfortunately but ive seen some recently on *bay i think?

R1200s front pipes - Rarer than hens teeth or limited market?

I have a set of never fitted BOS front pipes for the R1200s still in their box and packaging. Bought and never fitted. Cant decide whether to keep them just in case or to try and get my money back. Anyone know if there still demand for them or do we think the boat has sailed? Not desperate eitherway...

Re: R12S no ignition

must admit i think topcats on the right theme here, sounds like a broken wire with that sort of voltage showing. Have you tried turning bars from lock to lock with the ignition on to see if there is any difference with the movement?

Re: insurance blues

my offence was to park my car on the public road outside my house. Good neighbour who lives opposite reversed into my car - he couldn't have done more to remedy the situation but the damage meant a new door hence the insurance involvement

life goes on!

insurance blues

Been with BMW Motorrad insurance for the last few years. First blow came last year when a neighbour reversed into my parked car, even though his insurance company accepted full liability straight away, BMW charged me a £50 premium for the offence and administration charge for an accident which had n...

Re: Running in complete

Great to see that the 1200s is capable of keeping with the tradition of BMW's and their high mileage. Mines just getting to 20000 so still away to go! Do you have a list of work that you have done over the period and the mileages that things went wrong - i assume its needed some work?

Re: New Battery

i have mine linked to an optimate 24/7 and they seem to last about 4 years but the first sign is getting slower to turn over in my experience. Would think lithium would last for a long time but are pretty pricey but loads lighter for the speed merchants!
