im getting a strange clockwork like 'whirr'/'tapping' type noise when im out on my R12S. well so far no joy in getting this bolt out. Last resort is a friend of mine has a metal work shop and a van and hes going to take my bike and get try the weld a nut on method and see if that works

taking it all on board,

ive hit it with a hammer, will a bigger one help?

need to look at the welding option, need to find a friend with 'portable' welding equipment, otherwise i think it will be finding engineering place that can do the work

Also, shove some kitchen towel/paper or clean rag onto that great big hole soonish as well. will replace a.s.a.p ;) took it out to use blowtorch on it. i dont have access to welding equipment so cant do the welded on bolt trick, as that seems the most successful. decided to get a 'stud extractor' o...

Broken exhaust stud r1200s

Has anyone snapped the stud that attaches the downpipes to the head? Decided to take down pipes off to do some paint work, but as i removed the exhaust nuts *snap* off came the nut with a broken stud left behind. Ive tried everything i can think of - cutting a slot for a screw driver/using a reverse...

thread digging :D

so does anyone have a step by step or images on which parts to remove? i can see that some rollers are removed but not sure how to do it myself

im interested in having a more 'linear' throttle pull as sometimes it feels like the bike has a '2 step' throttle

was that you up near Carlisle on the A69 a couple of weeks ago? nope wasnt me, i wouldve been out and about on the durham dales then after a bit of searching ive discovered the fitting are 'banjo', but no wiser to what size they are :? any ideas anyone? otherwise im good to go to order them

can anyone help?

what sort of fixings to bmw use for brake/clutch lines on the r1200s? i need some longer ones made up but have no idea if i need flanges or banjos :shock:

fitting oil cooler grill

i have a wunderlich oil cooler grill to fit to my r12s, has anyone fitted one before?
the instructions are in german and my google-fu translation makes no sense so can someone help with instructions or a guide how to fit it please?
