Re: Returning to this site after 7 years

We escaped the NYC area in 1993! Nice area up here for riding but winters aren't like they used to be, with more ice and rain between snowstorms.

Should have a longer riding season once we live fulltime in Pa.

Re: Returning to this site after 7 years

Very nice.. Where in the NE US are you? Well currently we live in northern New Hampshire. If you know the general area we live about 10 miles from the western end of the "Kanc'". BUT a couple months ago we bought an eventual retirement home in Milford, Pa. We are only there every few week...

Re: Returning to this site after 7 years

Does that drain in the middle of the floor mean you can wash your vehicles inside. :?: I wish! No, it is for when my wife (that is her Subaru) drives in with her car covered in snow and ice. We are about an hour from the Canadian border and get some bad winter storms. The garage does have radiant h...

Re: Returning to this site after 7 years

Thanks folks. The R1100S needed a new rear brake rotor which the dealer did not have in stock. They will deliver the bike to my garage in 2 weeks. But the previous owner did include the "Boxer Cup Replika" literature. #111 of 200 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49647185381_850284203d_c...

Returning to this site after 7 years

7 years ago I returned my '04 Boxer Cup back to the dealer- long story.

Then 3 years ago I bought a 2009 R1200RT. Great power, comfortable and a real distance eater. But a too upright sitting position.

4 days ago I traded even for a 2003 Boxer Cup. Yes I wanted another one.

So I am BACK!

Well, guess it is goodbye

BUT had the dealer buy the bike back- LONG story- will post it here soon.

I will try to stay in touch.

Thanks for all the fun.

Merry Christmas to all you folks.......from across the Atlantic.

No snow here (yet) but still too cold to ride 17°F/ -8°C.

Bought my '04 BCR earlier this year. It still had the Laser mufflers but no cat. Has anyone actually eliminated (or even thought of eliminating) the right side muffler? I have taken a rag and held it over the right muffler outlet with little, if any, change in exhaust sound while revving. Looking at...

Might check the driveshaft while you have the whole assembly apart. Last year I had the opposite problem on my other bike- the K100RS. I wanted to inspect the "U" joints on the driveshaft (good thing since the front U joint had some play and needed a replacement). On disassembly I also dis...

Sorry to hear about your accident Ian. Hope you are able to get it back on the road. Hate to see a BCR pulled apart. Sounds insignificant but one piece that I could send you (free!) is a left carbon cylinder cover, if that is the side you need. Just let me know....... Best of luck with your bike. John

Every time I see the front of a K1200R it reminds me of the robot from Futurama.

Then again I don't like the look of the front of my K100RS- but I can't see it when I ride it.

+1 also.

All 4 bikes in our garage have those battery connectors hidden behind their side covers.

The electrical connector would have been high on my suspects list also. Those are also a weak spot on the K100/K1100 series. From what I have read and experienced myself, BMW fuel pumps rarely just suddenly die. While there might be the odd exception, most get very noisy way before they just crap ou...

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I am aware of the conn rod problems that some S bikes had. Good bike but a badly programmed robot, I believe.
