Talking of bearings,ordered some front wheel bearings today.Mine have been humming on the front when turning,so new ones were in order.Big one was £20,small one £5 +vat.Saw the dealer prepping a new GS for saturdays launch,Very nice in the flesh and it looks skeletal in the frame and drivetrain area...

DEpendant on how much is on there.I took mine out to clean as i was either regreasing or replacing.You should be able to do in situ.It needs to be clean or the preload on the adjusting pin will be false.

Richard First get the tools for the job. 30mm socket 12mm hex 1/2 drive torque wrench(s) locktite if you feel the need Get back of bike in the air,you can remove rear wheel if you like but adjustment can be made in place.Crack locknut on inside of paralever with 30mm socket and a big bar.YEs ITS BLO...

Look up KNIGHTS batteries.He is the main man for the hawker and can most likley do you u a deal.If you order more the price gets better,find out what model you need and do a group buy off 5 or more.I,m reckoning the PC 680 will be a universal fit on 4 valve boxers.

Locknut is 30mm,get an impact one.Halfords sell these and 12mm hex head with a 1/2 inch drive.Essential as they bloody tight!

Bearings are about £25 the pair,studs were an amazing £20 the pair.All from BMW dealer.You should be able to adjust yours though and i wouldnt change the pins unless they are shagged,grooved or pitted.A good greasing and adjustment is most likely all is needed at 13k.Mine gave up the ghost at 30k od...

oh yeah,tightening torque is 160nm for fixed stud,7nm for load on floating stud and 160nm on locknut.

Quite easy,remove wheel undo fixed bearing stud and remove,same on floating stud.disconnect speed sensor and block hole so oil doesnt leak.slide rear drive out.REmove UJ with acouple of screw drivers either side,it prises out.Heat up area around bearing,gently now.You can then drift out bearings.Whe...

Bloody nora!i,ve been runnin my 010,s at normal pressures 2.2 amd 2.5.When i got back from having them fitted i checked them and thought the bloke had made a boo boo,so set them lower.No wonder the steering feels heavy.Grip like bloody leeches though.Maybe a little more to lighten the steering.
