Re: ACF50

Yea that's what I was talking about, a trigger/hand sprayer not an aerosol, much easier to control than an aerosol or pouring it out of the bottle.

Re: ACF50

I see that Sportsbike shop have an offer (MCN) of 25% off for a bottle of ACF50 with a hand sprayer, I've been using this for the last 3 yrs or so spraying into a small paint brush & applying where I want as well as spraying into inaccessible spots. Works well, attracts a little dust onto fasten...

Re: Anyone fitted Barbacks to BCR-how long cables?

Ah well, managed to get a bit farther.. ordered longer cables and an adaptation to the throttle cable outlet at the handlebars (they call it a repair kit) & replaced the originals, had to come from the fatherland, all a success in the end.... but what a palaver fitting them! Re-installed the 'Ba...

Re: Anyone fitted Barbacks to BCR-how long cables?

I have the short paralever arm, but if I used the longer one to reduce the rear height wouldn't it just rake out the front & slow the steering? When I bought the bike it had Ohlins fitted & steered like a barge so while giving the bike a good service took the shocks to a suspension specialis...

Re: Anyone fitted Barbacks to BCR-how long cables?

Thanks for the replies, I had previously raised the bars above the yokes & replaced the brake hoses a few years ago (HEL I think) & managed without changing the cables, but got it into my head the other day that the 'bar backs' would give me more comfort in my old age (72) & ordered them...

Anyone fitted Barbacks to BCR-how long cables?

Just bought some barbacks (Moto CNC) for my Boxercup & find the throttle & choke cables are now too short. Looked at all the regular suppliers on the web & no longer ones are listed, Spoke with Motorworks they have standard upper cables at 570mm & are looking to see if they can get l...

Re: Screen.

I have the taller BMW screen with bars above the yoke on BCR, much better than the standard screen (which was terrible), very comfortable & quiet. I'm trying various earplugs now & surprising how different they can be.

I thought that you had to 'opt in' & by not replying you were declining the offer to receive further info, have I got this wrong?

Re: Various BCR bits for sale....

Hi Bob,

I'm interested in the Bagster tank cover & Corbin seat (if it doesn't go). Can pop up on a clear day as I'm near Huntingdon.

Re: Tracker

Not sure I agree, recently had a classic car stolen, the tracker co. called a soon as movement was detected, it was located in a lockup and recovered in the morning after police had installed discreet surveilance in the area (so they said), they also asked to keep the car for forensic tests. After c...

Check that you have the insulation under the springs for the brushes otherwise the spring short circuits between the brushes, I had the same problem & the insulators had gone adrift.

Re: non-starter R1100S all of a sudden! - won't turn over as if battery is flat, but its not.

Did you ever sort out the starter? I had the same problem a couple of years ago & it was the steel disc covering the reduction gear which had come adrift & was shorting out the armature windings (as in the link previously posted). Fixed it but had more problems & it was due to the bits o...

I have always thought with an air cooled engine it's best to change oil often, with roller bearing engines I use duckhams or equivalent, but modern water cooled engines I use top quality synthetics & take them to the limit. For the 1100s I use some V twin oil aimed at air cooled engines which se...
