Re: Help!!

Obviously in fiddling about to change the battery , a wire or connector has parted . Get to the battery , make sure earth is good , then check power cable , physically , check to the first connection and see if there is power and so in . Its possible fuse popped when doing the battery . A stupid que...

Re: Another 4 days in France

Thank you for the report I enjoyed reading .. Well most of it .. The comment about the distances being low because of the aged rider of 63 !!! I'm 63 and regularly ride in excess of 200 miles a day !! Several times in the last 4 years I've ridden the Santander / Bilbao trip to my vill...

Re: 350lc YPVS

I love these beautiful Yamaha 2 strokes !!! Enjoy yours !!! I won Hill climb champs on mine in South Africa in 1985. The standard exhaust pipes were very cleverly made , cut the weld in the middle , open it , remove a single baffle , and reweld , almost perfect expansion box . Then remove the baffle...

Re: TT, are the riders gladiators or canon fodder?

My mate Bud Jackson died after a fall in practice on thursday . He first raced at Manx back in 1989 ..... Been regular Manx and TT rider every year since , with a few wins over time . RIP Bud , you are one of the hard core dedicated racers . My picture of Bud and his wife just before start of 2013 M...

Re: TT, are the riders gladiators or canon fodder?

125cc Yamaha AS 3.jpg I think it's a case of your perception. Some of us wanted to race bikes from very early , in my case by 8 years old its all I ever wanted to do. I was lucky , I raced bikes pretty much from 1975 up until 2015 when I just couldn't take the knocks any more . I've had lots of hea...

Re: Want to share something

Oh my goodness !!! The poor families ... Please guys , when you are out there , try and think when you ride .... I see chaps daily riding , and the sort of things they are doing , should only ever be done on a race track, no traffic, good surface, the best medics to pick you up ..... Use your heads ...

Re: R1100s top end rattle

Jeff Thanks for the reply. From what I can find - 1-cam chain tensioner is an issue, but that's noise is worst when cold and improves when warm. 2-The 2 part push rods make more noise when warm, so that will be my first plan of attack - change them for the later one piece ones. 3-My bike has 49,000...

Re: Long range fuel tank

Hi Pete, I have now bought this tank from Simon. Can you tell me when the reserve light comes on - ie how many litres are left? Thanks Karl I'd say , safest bet would be to run it till light comes on , then you would know for sure on your bike. I've had three R1100S's and all put light on at differ...

Re: Somewhere in Crossgates.

My personal favourite is the Steel Horse cafe near Raglan.

Far friendlier , and in my opinion better value for money .

OK , no petrol , big deal , you have Abergaveny 5 miles down the road .

Re: Fuel

Here in Spain , mostly 95 , and 95 super ....

So , I use the 95 super, much dearer , but I'm assured there is no rubbish in it .

My bike runs pretty good , so I'm not complaining .
