Re: European Breakdown

You are fortunate !!! I was told by a colleague at AA they avoid any breakdown cover on vehicles over 12 years old , and load anything over 8 years old. I was refused breakdown cover on my 04 plate Ford 2 years ago . So , a good service , prior to the trip , and a good tool box with a few essentials...

Re: terrible question

I've been more than happy with my Bridgestones, however , I'm not a "scratcher" any more. Also a fair bit of my riding is 2 up. Did I mention 99% of my riding is on smooth dry tarmac roads ? I guess that also helps, although all the years in UK I never experienced any issues on the wet stu...

Number Plate N9 JOB

This plate was on my red BMW until I transferred to Spanish plates . Its currently on retention , and it was on one of the number plate sales pages for a while for £500 , but too many wheel kickers so it came off . Any reasonable sensible offer , £450 or so and it goes, if no one wants a " No J...

Re: Engine oil into the telelever ?

Go and buy a bottle of ATF , auto transmission fluid

The engine oil is thick and slow to compress and react, your bike wont feel good , like rigid forks on some of the chopper bikes .

Re: Pit Lane Penalty

I agree with all the sentiments about the harshness of the penalty . However , as an ex licensed FIM Clerk Of Course and Judge of fact, its a dreadful position for any one to be in. The rules are very specific no movement in a forward direction , sadly even though he was not under power, he allowed ...

Re: Today I.....

Coming from South Africa in the olden days , there were more folk sitting in the stands for a school boy rugby match .. Any provincial or Springbok game was packed out, kiddies all sitting on wooden benches on the field behind the posts on either sides ... Seems a bit sad to see so many empty seats .

Re: Fuel Grade

In my case, living here in Spain , I use Repsol 98 or Repsol super 95 if the particular garage doesn't have 98. But , I'd recommend you stay away from supermarket stuff, just too many additives in it. The additives go like jelly when standing , and rot the fuel lines, block the tubes and clog the in...

Funny noise , now oily rear tyre

Today I was buzzing along at about 50 mph , suddenly it felt like i'd ridden over a Catz eye with rear wheel, nothing else. I stopped about 5 km later. After the meeting , came out and noticed a bit of oil on ground ????? Checked and wondered if that was linked to the bump Id felt earlier . Any way ...
