Re: Well - that was a little unexpected...

I could really fancy that, if you decided to move it on. I'm on my 5th 1100S but I've always liked the Rockster's looks.

Re: R1100S

Well, the fork seal might hve been stuck to the leg from being standing a while. Either way, fork seals on these are easy as pie to change. If you pull the dust cover and find rus underneath, change the seal and the dust cover together. Oil from the final drive could be (most likely is) the gearbox ...

Re: R1100S

That's a nice looking bike Neil. 180 wide rear tyre and yellow spring are optional extras but Brembo brakes are standard for the bike. You'll find that the toolkit does not have a wheel nut spanner because the yellow spring shock holds the ride height too high for the centre stand to lift the rear w...

Re: bike for sale feedback wanted pls

Trust me, getting an all-weathers-ridden bike with this mileage back to half decent condition is a huge amount of work. I'm re-doing my 120k miles R1100S and put a lot of hours into it so far, for just a mediocry job.

Re: Starter repair

Thank you all. I love to fix up stuff rather than buy new if I can. I do have a good selection of machine tools etc (my hobby is rebuilding them) so making a simple part like this is a no-brainer for me. Hopefully, when the time comes to retire my workshop will be complete and I can spend my time us...

Starter repair

If your starter starts messing about when cranking then gives up completely just doing the 'machine-gun-clack", it could be this: My starter failed with a fractured magnet and a kind forum member @boxerscott sent me a spare parts one which 'had problems' which he had long since replaced. I figu...

Is this still on offer Scott?

My starter has had a magnet disintegrate so I'm in some desperate need of a replacement.

Re: Oil Sight Glass

Get some help and lean the bike over both ways whilst looking at the sight glass. Try first to the left because it's unlikely that bike suddenly shows over-full oil, it's most likely low.

Extended range fuel tank.

I have an extended range fuel tank for sale. this was made by myself and used on my bike for a short while. It fixes to the standard mounts and fits in every way except that you have to modify the battery carrier so that the ECU lays flat instead of standing up because the extended tank fits in the ...

S1000R rear indicators on R1100S

I bought some S1000R indicators and fitted them to my R1100S at the rear. They are smaller and less likely to catch when swinging a leg over, plus they are a little more modern looking, especially these ones with the smoked lenses. On top of all that, they are more readily available because the S100...

Cheers for that Jez I feel daft asking now the rubber stops are only a few quid from motorworks. I'll buy them from there.

WTD T40 toolkit wrench and seat rubbers

Hi, I'm looking to replace the T40 Torx key that comes in the tool kit, as mine is missing. If anyone has this spare please let me know. I am also looking for a pair of seat rubbers, the ones that go on the frame just behind the tank that the seat lugs locate into. Please let me know if anyone has e...

Re: Is This a Record?

My bike has had 3 theft attempts since summer. There's a bit of an epidemic on I think.
