Re: Faulty Horn

Need some help again. I'm just getting the bike ready for an MOT and it has'nt been used for a couple of months. Just noticed that the horn is not working. I have checked the fuse which is under the tank and that's ok. I have also disconnected the horn and tested it directly to a battery and it wor...

From the Corbin site, Leather seat US$359 and backrest US$249 £170 ~ UD$298. 50% off for 4 years use? I'd offer him less. http://www.corbin.com/bmw/r1100s.shtml Corbin did sell a cheaper seat with vinyl inserts. Seats don't come with the lock-latch bar attached - you have to take it off your stock s...

Pinion Seal leaking and BMW quality

Took the rear wheel off last night to replace the tyre (small nail small leak Pilot road only 30% worn damm*t) and found the bolts smelling of Hypoid. Further inspection and Leak is from bottom rear of the boot. Dealer says pinion seal - 2.5 hours labour. Anything else to look at whilst the back stu...

Had Sport front & Rear. Changed out the rear for a Road last summer during an extended trip. Caned the bike over Lolo and Beartooth passes, Yellowstone, Glacier and Waterton national parks. No issues, better life. Changed to the Road front last fall when it wore out. Very happy with the handling...

Run the Sports out and put on Pilot Roads in France. I ran into the same problem last year in Lewiston/Clarkston on the way to Yellowstone with ~6,000km on the Sports. Next dealer 2 days away and tread for one day ~800k left. Tyre seemed to start disappearing in the hot sport riding in Washington / ...

Easy to fit the BMW in-line quick-disconnects to the S. Once off with the tank was enough. Use the new plastic straight QD's - I bought them and the screw hose clips from the BM dealer. Cut out 2 1/2" of the top fuel line and 2" of the bottom line. Stagger the QD's and alternate the male ends so the...

Works great on chain-drive garage door openers and on all them damn little rollers on the door. Nice and quiet now. Only bad part was overspray onto the car windshield which the wife found as she drove into the rain

Tyres

Michelin Pilot Sport did me well last year. 7,000km rear, 11,000km front and stuck like glue in rain, cold and heat. Changed to the Pilot Road when they were done to get some extra life. Caned the new rear through Lolo pass, Chief Joseph senic highway and Beartooth pass near Yellowstone. I'll buy th...

Avatars - how do I get it to the right size?

I've got the picture I want to be an Avatar, just can't figure how to get it to the required 80x80 pixels and <6kb. Is there a simple solution?
