Re: R1200s for sale

That seems a hell of a package…….

I’d advise keep the spare wheels and sell separately - as the remaining bike is STILL an attractive buy.

What are you moving on to?

Re: Europe tour advice

Yeah, with contactless. the SANEF tags are a bit superfluous (but handy). You now get those ID card holders with super strong recoil lanyards, that could be handy for a CC at tolls. Fit the card in the holder (I think they are for office badges) and secure the lanyard to your tank/bar bag internal. ...

They are a long-legged, open-roads bike - akin to a Honda SP1/2, Mille R or Ducati 999 etc - does not like pootling around towns. Sounds perfect where do I sign  Seriously I’d love one and probably the only bike I’d sell my 12s for, I remember a few years back an old member had 3 for sale, my ...

Re: RIOTD...

Stopped by the other week for a look, as I had heard someone was ‘starting’ to revamp into a house - but still looks the same. I think the authorities need to be quite ‘understanding’ in its conversion and also allowing trees around it to be cleared better. It would be a tragedy to allow it to crumb...

The HP2s is ‘special’…………. Been threatening to sell mine for last couple of years, now - as I just seldom get a chance to ride it. Now - all standard apart from the HP4 mirrors. Think the mileage is still below 6k and still qualifies for BMW warranty, I believe. I guess you have ridden one before, S...

Jeeez! Not to diminish your injuries - which are significant. At least they are what I would term ‘bread & butter’ injuries for the surgeons! Broken ribs are touch and go, of course - and any ‘flying through the air’ incident - is luck of the draw on result. Sounds like you are making slow recov...

Re: Europe tour advice

I’ve had a SANEF tag for a few years now - if you are doing peage miles, it is bloody handy. Go through a Class 1 toll? You can contact them online retrospectively, and when they see your journey is Class 5 for other sections - they alter the charge! Try getting your fingers back in your waterproof ...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

I think for battery drain, it can be partially alleviated by running on downloaded maps and/or downloaded routes. You can download MRA maps in areas, as you can do with google. Modern phones- the space the maps take are insignificant. I plan on trying that option in France, to reduce roaming charges...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

Just an update. I cut a couple of pieces out of the packaging foam and stuck each to the BMW Nav adaptor and rescrewed the Unit to the adaptor - just to possibly smooth out any tendency to vibrate. I think my pal has done similar. Not sure if absolutely necessary, and wouldn't be on the 5" mode...

For the Meta - see here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=b9lU5axNLrA There's also a load of wiring schematics online - google "META 357T wiring diagram" Datatools - I had all the guff on, META - no. Also - if you have a multi-meter with needle-probe attachments - makes easy...

Re: Guitar Acquisition Syndrome

Nice ! If you have so many acoustics - you're obv not too shabby a player? I cannot play a note, but decided last year - to buy an object d'art in the form of a Gibson Les Paul. Does that make me a bad person for buying a guitar as art? It's on a minimalist stand in the living room. I might get arou...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

I think that Carpuride are pretty determined to prevail in the market, so I think they will address: 1) [color=#40BFFF]The interruption to power via Canbus or BMW adaptor (they might fit a battery or capacitor in a bespoke case that slots into the back of the BMW adaptor) 2) The current slightly ha...
