Re: Servo ABS brakes - deal breaker?

Hi YL, For what it’s worth, I ran an ABS (servo) R1100s for about 5 years with no problems, about 40k on it. A few years back, met a chap with an old BMW Rockstar with servo ABS, at the time the bike would have been getting on to 13 years old. Got chatting and the servo topic came up and he said its...

My God that sounds terrible. Really glad to hear you are on the mend, what a horrible experience.

Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery.

Re: What have you done since lockdown 'kicked in'

Thanks John, the cats are both a bit special. The upside down one is very laid back but his brother makes up for it, non stop all day (or night) then just keels over like his batteries have ran out! He recently discovered rabbits in the field next door and brings them back onto the lawn to play! Tre...

Re: What have you done since lockdown 'kicked in'

Fortunately, I have been working during the lockdown, I've pretty much been working from home since last October and have enough to keep me busy. I appreciate that I’m very lucky. So, most of what I’ve been up to is at the weekends with a few, cough cough, quiet week days thrown in. Tidied the garag...

Re: Workplace safety

That is nuts!

I honestly couldn't watch all of it as I do not like heights. Makes you realise how lucky we are.

Re: R12S no ignition

Had a similar problem on my R12s about a year ago. Good battery but no display or starting.

Turns out is was a broken wire at the head stock area - a common fault i was told. The cable ties do not allow enough movement so the wire eventually breaks.

Hope that helps

Re: Richard Joyce

Just seen this, hope you are feeling better Richard and making a full recovery. Fully agree with you and others on the quality of the NHS staff, we always hear the bad stuff, never the good. On the A3 Hindhead project, some of my team were in a car crash and the response from the emergency services ...

Re: European Breakdown

I used RAC a couple of years back to cover my 2007 R12 in France. About £85 I think. Very glad I did as had to get the bike ferried back to the UK but I had the option of a hire car to drive home in, ferry costs paid back to collect the bike from the dealer where repairs would have been done. I thin...
