Re: Oil cooler protection

Got a piece of Ali mesh from B&Q, easy to cut and shape, used a bit of epoxy to bond it to fairing, £5.

Re: Handlebars

Have you tried putting the original bars above the yokes Neil? Gives you approx 45mm, you might get away without needing to change brake lines, varies between bikes.

Re: Wellerman

Shanty’s seem to be “in” at the moment, the guy in the vid was on breakfast tv last week, we have our own shantymen here in Exmouth, although haven’t seen as much of them recently, can’t think why.

Re: Thank goodness ...

Glad you are staying fit and well Gerry, not too bad here in south Devon. What Supermotard have you got? I think I had the Baghira when you bought my 1100, having the GS I didn’t think I’d need two bikes so sold the Baghira, but almost instantly regretted it so got the XT, they have fuel injection/s...

Re: Ohlins rear shock pre load ring

Don’t know the answer to your question, but a lot of people(including me)on the GS forum use a guy called Denzo for suspension info and rebuilds on OE an aftermarket shocks, he is very knowledgeable, has a test rig, and provides a very good service, 10-14 day turnaround time depending on spares etc ...

Re: Hibernating

I'm OK in semi hibernation - - never dreamed that retirement would be like this! Spending like never before on bike stuff--just hope that it won't be too long before we can start riding again and have some freedom!! Peter. I’m with you Peter, my first full year of retirement has not gone to plan ei...

Re: battery isolation switch?

What is the difference between an isolater switch and disconnecting or removing it, it’s not as if the 1100s has on board computers etc, as I have a garage remote from my house mine is out of my GS at the moment, I just do a TPS reset and set the clock when I connect it.

Re: Donations for site running costs

Hi Paul, a long overdue deposit has been sent to the coffers, partly a penance for not wanting a T shirt despite your best efforts of persuasion and in appreciation of your commitment to the upkeep of the site. As a lot of us here are of a mature age we are hopefully not too far down the pecking ord...
