Re: Press pictures or wallpapers of R1100S & R1200S

Looks good in the sun, if the old bones had allowed to me to ride it any distance it would still be in my garage. How are you doing Gerry? Things still look pretty grim in Spain.

Re: R18 reveal

Not for me, but we are all different and if you like that sort of thing BMW will obviously be pleased to make your wallet considerably lighter, but the video is like a hipster propaganda message :)

Re: Press pictures or wallpapers of R1100S & R1200S

Hi Paul, I have a few pictures of my old Silver 1100s I can send you but they have other stuff in the background(inc Gerry b), with your computer skills I am guessing to you can “disappear” the background, and Gerry!!

Re: Offer of Help

I might have considered it for a bit of extra pin money, but unfortunately I don’t think it would be allowed under the current travel restrictions, and it wouldn’t be a good idea to work from home as Sue is already doing that!!

Re: Closed ....

Fortunately as I am retired and Sue is a community health worker we are shielded from the effects of business closures and being self employed, seems to be a mixed reaction and a lack of detailed information on the package on offer from the state to those affected, I know a lot on here are caught up...

Re: Closed ....

We flew into Heathrow from Sri Lanka yesterday, before we left we were scanned twice within the airport with temperature sensing cameras at both Colombo and Abu Dhabi, all cabin crew were masked and gloved along with just about any airport worker who interacted with passengers, at Heathrow, nothing,...

Re: Media....?

You are not wrong there Gerry, I think it’s eventually got to go the same route Spain has chosen but hopefully we will be home by then. Our daughter is respiratory physio team leader and is part of a strategy team so we are getting up to date info at least, not the stuff being fed to the media. Hope...

Re: Media....?

Rightly or wrongly we decided we would have our trip to Sri Lanka and arrived out here on 7th March, picked up a Honda FMX 650 and got on with our trip round this amazing Island, today sitting on a tropical beach with about a 1000 other people, eating, drinking and swimming who seemingly don’t have ...

Re: Toilet paper madness

No shortages where we are, currently tootling round Sri Lanka on a 650 Honda, no Coronavirus, nice and warm, nice curries, plenty of loo roll for the hot ones!!, some pretty good ( and bad) roads, so good move to get a last minute getaway, just hope our house/dog sitter survives the panic at home, a...

Re: Ohlins spring

There is a guy on ukgser site who has a good rep for shock refurbs, he uses OE parts, will build to match weight, fit lower or progressive springs etc, he is a good bit cheaper than the prices in Phil's post. PM me if you want his details for a chat. Pete, milliplod on here has had his RT shocks ref...

Re: Flip Lids ...

Recently bought a HJC RPHA 90, my first flip, I always use a very thin under helmet thingy and can put on and remove helmet wearing my glasses, riding flipped up is ok ( if possibly illegal)round town and it can be shut with one hand when you get used to it, it’s a bit heavier than my RPHA 10 but mo...

Re: feeling in touch with the modern world

Chris, you need to move to the sunny south, nearly 9 hrs of daylight on a midwinters day, walks along palm tree lined promenades, no cabin fever or SAD in Devon, scraped ice off the car once so far this winter and they show rugby in the pubs!!
