a note of caution, these bikes should never be left siationary with the engine running as they will over heat. You could then find it will blow out the oil sight glass, no fun if your leg is in the way, it won't do the rest of the bike any good either. Just start and go. I think that's a bit over-d...

Put the kill switch in one of the 'off' positions before charging the battery on the bike, connected. Why? Just paranoia, really - it avoids any possibility of a voltage spike from the charger reaching the ECU and causing damage there. This is why most battery charger instructions say to only charg...

The manunfacturing standards of the Remus Y pieces are not variable - they are consistently bad! I had to spend a lot of time hitting/cutting/grinding mine to get it to work properly. I ended up without the cross-bar and had no problems. I found I needed to loosen the headers at the head end to get ...

If the battery is completely, utterly flat then you'll have to charge it - if there's not enough power to get the fuel pump, injectors and ECU working then no amount of bumping in gear will get it started. Do you have a power socket? If so you could charge through that. Otherwise you can get to the ...

It's Gone

Well, I'm now an ex-R1100S owner - the bike was collected by Steve/f90x on Saturday. Actually I was quite sad to see it go, particularly when I realised (as he rode it away) how fantastic it sounds to an onlooker.... Anyway, I hope he'll be very happy with it and I'm sure he'll be visiting Box...

Henry, I'd get in touch with Michelin's technical support people and ask them. Generally it's OK to have a sticker tyre on the front than on the back (but not the other way around) but it depends on the profiles and construction of the two tyres whether they're compatible. I believe the Pilot Road h...

Re: Laser Pipes - crack in weld

Has anyone else noticed that some of the tubing is not stainless and looks a bit rusty. They are stainless. Just not high grade stainless. And contrary to popular opinion, lower grades of stainless steel will not only stain (see header pipes...) but also rust. Just not as much or as fast as mild st...

Every 36k miles (60k km). Although it doesn't hurt to check the condition more regularly than that.

What the hell are they doing touching bikes when there's housework to be done. :P They're on the mechanics training course - the one on the left is steadying the bike while the one on the right checks the front brakes (or the headlight beam adjustment - it's hard to tell) and the one in the middle....

I know it's not a Boxer, or even a BM, but has anyone seen the advertising for the new Aprilia Shiver?

You could visit the site occasionally and post pics?? I won't have a computer, or regular access to one (internet cafes will be my only opportunity and that'll just be to catch up on emails) so there'll be no pics while I'm away. I'll be incommunicado. A month without a computer - is such a thing p...

Spose you'll be coming back all Ducatied up! One of the weekend trips I've got planned is up the Futa Pass (where the Multistrada is claimed to have been developed/tested) to Bologna to see the Ducati museum and, hopefully, factory. But my experience of Ducati ownership (an ST2) makes me think that...
