Still came to work on the bike but I am now waiting for a break in the weather before making a dash home! Andrew, Ive signed up for the job in Fife (Leuchars) so I am now stressed up planning...

Fairing removal

Is there a trick to removing the fairing at the top of the tank where the rubber lever thingy is? I have refered to the manual but it seems to take a lot of graunching (is that a real word?) and Im scared of damaging the fairing panel. Apols if this seems a bloody stupid question but Im really good ...

At Last, the day has finally arrived

Finally become a fully fledged Trixter tomorrow. Bought the bike back in Nov and its registered from 01/03/07 :D :D :D
So please (deity of your choice) warm and dry tomorrow. After the last 2 years on a ZRX1200 it will be interesting to see how I get on with a big twin.

FACE OFF

In preparation for my iminent return to "Blighty" I have purchased (on flea bay) a second hand MPH clock. Rather than fit the whole speedo I am considering just exchanging the face so that I retain the bikes original mileage (actually it will be kilometerage). Can anybody offer advice on r...

750 miles approx in 24hr doing the National Rally in 1999. No big deal but I think I deserve a bravery award for doing on a Ducati 750ss.

I just need to sign the offer and terminate my current contract Oh yes and fit an MPH Clock and adjust the headlights, pay some Govt department £65 to give me a letter saying my bike is CofC'd for use on UK roads, MOT it, register it (another bill) and "Bobs you aunties live in lover!"

Thanks everybody for the responses. I will be taking a couple of you up on your kind offers of advice and will be in touch. Weve pretty much made the decision; quality of life in Fife versus quality of life in Blackpool, hmmm close run thing  Its just a big decision to move away from family an...

Off Topic - Fifecestershire

I Just been offered a job North of the border and I know there are some Fife Trixters out there so im looking for any/all inside knowledge before I commit. e.g. what are house prices like? where is the best place to live? (I would be working near St andrews), is there anywhere to avoid? what are the...

Nah its not upside down, the back of the belly pan is red so they have just carried on the lines! I think plain blue as per the first photo is the way to go!

Still what do I know?

p.s. The paint shop will also be able to mix you up the colour either from the BMW paint code or matching to a colour sample (take a bit of the bodywork in). If you use 2 pack (acrylic) its pretty evil stuff so you need an air fed mask when you spray, if you use cellulose you can get away with a car...

No probs. as I remember (from my night school painting course) for plastic and flexible stuff you add a plasticiser (is that a real word?) at about 20%. Your local paint shop will sort you out, it makes the paint flexible and stops it flaking.
