Re: Steve Parry

Update - I took Steve out for lunch today and we had a nice little tour of all the closed pubs in a 30 mile radius of his house. I never checked things out properly So we ended up at the Pondy cafe for steak pie and chips. 10 steps up to the car park to the parking meter stopped him in his tracks b...

Re: Rough running R12S

it isn’t clear how a valve and the con-rod has required renewal, without head damage. If the valve drops and wedges, you can bend the conrod, screw the piston, but would expect that the head would be irrecoverable too. Aye, ... or it was dropped on its head, impact great enough to cause slight defo...

Re: Why K and N?

Chain oil? I find a regular wipe with old soaked rag in gear oil. Just to keep things moist. OK not practical thing to have in your Barbour whilst on a 2K mile plus tour.

Re: Becker teknic stand

try Ricambi Weiss - they do a rear paddock stand that goes through the rear wheel "hub". I ordered one and for some reason the red one was more expensive than the black  Only lifts the rear Dave, Beauty of the centre stand one is you can pivot both front and rear wheels in the air....

Re: Steve Parry

Not good. Best wishes Steve, get this issue sorted. I have had a chest infection it went on for two weeks of coughing fits, not wanting to put the health centre under any more stress I ignored it. Then i was advised to go and get it checked out. I am glad i listened. Course of anti bacs and the infe...

Re: Rear rack enquiry.

I have fitted both in the past. I can confirm that the Givi arms and base plate work with bmw standard pannier rails. I recommend only using a single helmet size top box. It looks ok and proportionate. Be mindful of manufacturers loading requirements. If you overload the rear end it makes for fun sq...

Interesting statistics

Talking over breakfast with the missus about a scene from the book she is reading, (grapes of wrath) we started to generally compare what 30`s life in Britain may have been like compared to USA, in particular the highway service areas, the age of the car and appliances and just how far behind Britai...

Re: Van buying time again.

Cheers Phil, that is bang on the money and fully understood. I am also interested in a van being sold privately by a seller levying 20pc vat. The van has had two owners, the seller seems very amenable and has agreed to show me the purchase invoice when he bought it to prove that he has to levy the f...
