Re: Euro 3 & the R1200ST

Ironic is it not, I would bet that German manufactured engines of any era purporting to meet emission regs, simply do not, and when proved so, nothing happens in Europe but in USA they have to buy them all back! Infuriating, Good luck, buy one with the certification just to keep the blighters off yo...

Re: R1100S worn 'wheel' bearings

Ian, I adjusted my paralever free play. It is straightforward to do. I followed instructions from the Clymer book I had. I recollect I had to use a heat gun to free off specific threadlock and then apply more threadlock.

I reckon it is not beyond the scope of a Fly Fifer

Re: THE CLASSIC ROCK SHOW - 2019 DATES

This thread says even more about the demographic of the forum than a group photograph :D Absolutely, a group photo would not be Rock and Roll. It is great though to imagine ourselves. We definitely are in the Sunshine of our Love  For the life of me I can not remember Molly Hatchet. But I may...

I am inclined to agree with that philosophy but as far as boxers go and vari cams it may not be new tech.

Re: Paging Chris ..... R1250R

God thats ugly - why do modern designers persist in mounting the headlampo about 12" lower than where it should be???????? Ugly is trending john, look at the ktm headlamps for ugly. Lower headlamps give the front an uncluttered more naked look suited to roadsters and their hipster riders. :win...

Al.
I think that is good advice and would be money well invested if you are really keen on owning a GS.

Re: Do I buy now or wait?

Thanks everyone, I think I will wait over Xmas into new year, & will check stock at Chester bmw if one pops up I like. The bike I’m after always seems to be £11-12k. I wonder if Bmw will drop price of new unsold r1200gs on pcp, might be an option worth waiting for? If you want to rent a bike on...

Re: Do I buy now or wait?

I read an interesting article on buying a used gs the author was Neil Murray who has a column in Mcn. He is a very savvie wheeler dealer. You should be able to buy a used 1200 gs with all the toys for less than half the cost of a new one. Sub 10k defo privately. I would doubt dealers have bikes with...

Re: John Gemi R1200GS chips?

Hey up, like you I do not own an R1200gs but in answer to your enquiry I think you will find www.ukgser the Holy Grail of all things GS.

Not wanting to open up a debate on how irrelevant I think these things are on modern bikes, I wish you good luck with this.

Re: Will BMW ditch telelever?

Some point in time they will, at the moment market forces dictate, everybody seems to want a GS Boxer, if it aint broke don`t fix it. I reckon the RT will lose it before the GS. It adds bulk to the front end spoiling the natural position for the radiator. The RT is a bit of a fat lad and could do to...
