System Pannier locks help - oops
Until recently I owned 2x R1100S bikes. I sold one last month to a new owner that is going to be tricky to get in touch with - and discovered at the weekend that I had previously coded my System pannier locks to the ignition keys of the bike I sold - Doh! Can anyone offer advice on getting the cylin...

Re: Chip to cope with K&N plus open pipes....BCR twin spark
Thanks that's a great help/pointer I will (once I;ve sorted a new starter and pair of injectors to get my '04 BCR running again initially, then I can look at the 'breathing' ability of it again. cheers M

Chip to cope with K&N plus open pipes....BCR twin spark
Hi
I'm looking to fit K&N filter I have plus a Boss exhaust (open decat twin pipes right to the end). What chip do I need, or how do I sort the Motec to work with this free breathing setup on a twin spark BCR, and where can I get one?

Wanted: exhaust cans R1100s
Stock R1100, Laser or aftermarket exhaust cans only. Wanted in dirty but undamaged condition is fine (they are for adaption to some twin Boss primaries I've found) so silencer will be having the inlet cut and re welded.

Re: R1100S starter motor
Is this suitable.for a 2004 BCR? If so I am interested please
Also need a pair.of injectors for a twin spark,
And a silencer for any R1100S to modify for some twin Boss primaries I'm playing with, if you know of any of the above?

Re: non-starter R1100S all of a sudden! - won't turn over as if battery is flat, but its not.
Thanks for the links and tips.... Sure enough it was the starter - I took swapped it for the starter on my 'spare' R1100 - and it spun up very healthily with a new Odyssey cell fitted. I will hang onto the old one in case I can find a way to diagnose what failed on it, Interesting the starter on my ...

Re: non-starter R1100S all of a sudden! - won't turn over as if battery is flat, but its not.
on another note - I did find a slightly crushed cable when I removed the plastic starter cover (turned out it was sandwiched between the cover at the rear fixing point - it appears to run to a sensor of some description at the rear of the engine. Back on starters - does anyone recondition failed uni...

Re: non-starter R1100S all of a sudden! - won't turn over as if battery is flat, but its not.
Thanks Steve & Jeff - I got the starter motor off this afternoon and it appears to have failed (doesn't spin and just smells like the armature is burning out). As it was easier than I thought to get off I will borrow the starter off my spare R1100S - if it works, which I am hopeful it should - I...

yes, some good suggestions there - thanks It does seem a bit of a coincidence it started playing up after the bent gear change incident. I will get the belly pan off Sunday afternoon, and the cover off the starter and investigate futher the cables and voltage then. Its strange also how when you cran...

non-starter R1100S all of a sudden! - won't turn over as if battery is flat, but its not.
Everything else sorted for touring and went to MOT the bike and - it wont start - sounded like a dead battery - turns over sliggishly then jams. Bought a nice brand new Odyssey cell thinking my battery wasn't upto it and... exactly the same on the brand new cell. Could this be a dying starter motor ...

Re: Time for a Battery (again) R1100S
So I have a choice of Odyssey 545 or 680 - there's not a lot of difference in price, but quite a difference in capacity and size. If I could get a deal on one of each I'd fit the 545 to my 'cafe racer' stripped down BCR and the 680 to my kitted up touring R1100 and see how each fair over time. I tak...
