BMW do a longer battery retaining strap which you may need / want if you are replacing the smaller of the two OEM batteries.

On the UKGS'er forum they suggest that you cut a hole in the bottom of the reflector and then re-seal.

The fromt mount is a platform under the fromt of the engine and the rear mount clamps to the riders foot pegs.

If I rememer correctly you can leave the seat cowel on when fitting the rack BUT there is not enough space to remove the cowel once the rack and rack plate is in position, so you would not be able to take the seat off.
