"ball ended allen keys"

Thanks for the tip Nero. Yet another set of Allen Keys. Really should have used my flexible driver once I'd cracked off the tension. (Too idle to go back to the house to fetch it).

Vario screen fitted

Fitted the Vario screen yesterday evening. :P Thinks! this will take 20 Mins. Which it would except that one of the stupid captive nuts escaped. Hour and a half later having had to remove a side panel and the instrument surround. This is the first time I have taken the side panel off. I suspect that...

Decided to bite the bullet and have ordered the vario screen which is at least adjustable so I should be able to find the "right" screen without buying several to try :? You should just buy the lower section............................ and pinch the top part off Leasky's bike  Al :o...

I used to have a 1986 R80RT. I think the forks looked slightly different but are probably similar to work on. Compared to the Diversion that I had until recently the forks were a joy to work on. You could change the seals without taking springs out, you could drain them without taking the legs out y...

Thanks Winger. Yes everyone's experience is also their own preference, I just want to feel as though I am in control and not about to be blown off if I am doing more than 70 (on contnental roads of course) Now there's a Challenge: does any one have a tall standard screen that I could try out? :?: Ha...

R1100s Screen

My R1100S has a standard screen. Being 6ft I find the wind blast a pain in the neck above 70mph (it smacks me straight in the visor and tries to lift my helmet off). I have searched for screens and it seems that there is only a double bubble option. Do any of you know what the options are for altern...

"What the best way to get this off? re-heat it? "

This has happened to me in the past, re heat it then wipe it off with a big wodge of rag (mind you don't burn you self) better than scraping it off which can leave scratch marks. Polish up again when the headers are cold.

Two Dogs Said "that 3hr ride on the B1053 "Three hours from Braintree to Saffron Walden and back . According to the Michelin Route Planner it's 21 miles each way. So thats 42 miles in 180 Minutes. 42 divided by 180 times 60 = 13.99 miles per hour average speed. I think I stick with the R1...
