Re: Indicators

The self cancelling is linked in with the speedo sensor , so at motorway speeds it operates after about 300 metres , in urban areas I tend to cancel it manually.

Re: Clutch slipping. 11s 99 plate

Before you strip it remove the slave cylinder just to confirm that it's not partially seized, this would be an easy fix if the clutch hasn't been slipping badly. While there, if there's oil or brake fluid visible in the orifice this could also be the cause of the problem and depending how bad may be...

Re: Key problem

Some threads here on removing the switch / internals/ barrel. If the repair kit mentioned in the thread includes tumblers to mix & match to an existing key maybe a lock smith can do the reverse? http://www.boxertrix.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=23930&hilit=grub http://www.boxertrix.co...

Has a beak but isn't a GS .....

I had a load of fun On a CBF 250 over the last 18 months despite the lack of go so when I had the chance to "upgrade" to something a little kinder to my 6' 4" frame with no cash outlay ( swopped two bikes with cash to me) I jumped in . It has the full Charley and Ewan luggage kit so I...

Re: brake rattle & squeak... fixed, I think

Afaik only the OE pads have that spring , so I guess either live with it or fit OE pads . I have different retro fitted 2 pin brembo calipers on my bike ( without an anti rattle plate and they rattle nicely ! Centre stand bushings

I noticed a few months ago that my centre stand was a quite loose on its pivots and not lifting the rear wheel as high as usual , so I sprayed plenty of penetrating oil on the retainers since then and recently stripped out the stand to reveal this on the L/h side... I guess I'll need to lubricate it...

I did and had to remove it after a couple of weeks because it was ear splittingly too loud with baffle fitted. The alternative was an OE item tha...
