Has a beak but isn't a GS .....

I had a load of fun On a CBF 250 over the last 18 months despite the lack of go so when I had the chance to "upgrade" to something a little kinder to my 6' 4" frame with no cash outlay ( swopped two bikes with cash to me) I jumped in . It has the full Charley and Ewan luggage kit so I...

Re: brake rattle & squeak... fixed, I think

Afaik only the OE pads have that spring , so I guess either live with it or fit OE pads . I have different retro fitted 2 pin brembo calipers on my bike ( without an anti rattle plate and they rattle nicely ! I have a similar caliper on the front of my Guzzi which has an anti rattle plate fitted but...

Centre stand bushings

I noticed a few months ago that my centre stand was a quite loose on its pivots and not lifting the rear wheel as high as usual , so I sprayed plenty of penetrating oil on the retainers since then and recently stripped out the stand to reveal this on the L/h side... I guess I'll need to lubricate it...

Re: noisy exhaust?

Did anyone ever try purchasing an aftermarket exhaust for say an older motorcycle that was deemed by the supplier to be Mot friendly whatever that means ? I did and had to remove it after a couple of weeks because it was ear splittingly too loud with baffle fitted. The alternative was an OE item tha...

Re: Replacement LED bulbs?

This company does H7 and H11 but specifies only for foglamp or off road use presumably the beam pattern is incorrect?

Re: Front Brake Judder

Well, after a new wheel, new seals and bearings and new Brembo pads, the judder remains! Discs within permissible run out, wheel straight and true. Does the judder happen with both hot and cold brakes , and have you tried deglazing the discs? I have a Bonneville with a similar problem , the runout ...

Re: My 2004 R1100S Diary

Interesting write up and you have the bike looking almost factory fresh! . The comparison between the gearbox on the K1 and the 11s is strange . There is at least one other K1 owner on here ( I think ) Maybe they can offer their comparisons too. I've always found My 11s gearbox to be good. On the cl...

Re: Is this normal ?

At first it didn't start ,just a clicking noise at the starter button and no turning of the starter, at all. After several attempts it finally started just like it was everything all right. I also have a reading of 12.3 Volt's constantly on the wire that connects the starter button with the starter...

Re: Gear indicator

Afaik the R850 has a cable driven speedometer , (no digital input) but that's easily checked .. There's a thread below which may be of some help . It mentions an accessory which can be purchased to provide the required signal http://www.boxertrix.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6378&hilit=gea...

Clay bar is great especially if the paint surface is contaminated with something like tree sap or just generally won't clean up with compound .

Re: R1100s speedo not working

nab 301 Did you resolve your speedometer issue? If so, how did you find and fix the fault? Mine is playing up again too on my 2001 1100S. My sensor picks up from a castellated nut pressed onto the rear axle, but this nut can apparently work loose. My nut seems fine so I fear the chaffed cable may b...
