Re: Replacement LED bulbs?

This company does H7 and H11 but specifies only for foglamp or off road use presumably the beam pattern is incorrect?

Re: Front Brake Judder

Well, after a new wheel, new seals and bearings and new Brembo pads, the judder remains! Discs within permissible run out, wheel straight and true. Does the judder happen with both hot and cold brakes , and have you tried deglazing the discs? I have a Bonneville with a similar problem , the runout ...

Re: My 2004 R1100S Diary

Interesting write up and you have the bike looking almost factory fresh! . The comparison between the gearbox on the K1 and the 11s is strange . There is at least one other K1 owner on here ( I think ) Maybe they can offer their comparisons too. I've always found My 11s gearbox to be good. On the cl...

Re: Is this normal ?

At first it didn't start ,just a clicking noise at the starter button and no turning of the starter, at all. After several attempts it finally started just like it was everything all right. I also have a reading of 12.3 Volt's constantly on the wire that connects the starter button with the starter...

Re: Gear indicator

Afaik the R850 has a cable driven speedometer , (no digital input) but that's easily checked .. There's a thread below which may be of some help . It mentions an accessory which can be purchased to provide the required signal http://www.boxertrix.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6378&hilit=gea...

It's more to do with the drive shaft angle . Adjust it to where you want and post a photo preferably with you or the equivalent weight on the bike ...

Re: clay bar

Clay bar is great especially if the paint surface is contaminated with something like tree sap or just generally won't clean up with compound .

Re: R1100s speedo not working

nab 301 Did you resolve your speedometer issue? If so, how did you find and fix the fault? Mine is playing up again too on my 2001 1100S. My sensor picks up from a castellated nut pressed onto the rear axle, but this nut can apparently work loose. My nut seems fine so I fear the chaffed cable may b...

Re: R1100S Cubic Capacity on V5?

This came up once before , but I can't find the thread , the 11S is 1085 cc , probably need to contact BMW to correct this . (The clerical error presumably originated with BMW)

Re: Seized suspension

If the suspension is supposed to be rock hard then its absolutely fine....... The knob on the rear shock is just a hydraulically operated preload , so won't make the suspension harder and the screw at the base of the shock adjusts the rebound . The front adjuster is afaik just rebound adjustment al...

No experience of repairing them myself but assuming it is the D6RA75 starter the solenoid part number is listed on this website http://www.largiader.com/tech/valeo/ as 12 41 1 244 607 Plenty of threads on UK Gser if you search with the starter motor model above Citroen cars mentioned in this thread ...

Re: Funny noise , now oily rear tyre

Any advice on what it may be ? Just racked up 57 thousand miles . I'm guessing rear wheel bearing has failed may be ? ? Drain the bevel box oil looking for swarf ( check oil level before you drain it) . Rear wheel off the ground, grab it top and bottom to check for play. Remove the rear wheel to ch...

Re: Future classic?

Comments? Thoughts? Paul It's already appeared in Classic motorcycle mechanics a couple of years ago! I barely use mine now and as it's not worth very much I may just park it for a couple of years and see what happens. I bought a 1990 vfr 750 a few years ago very cheap , well, 7 years ago to be exa...
