Re: Front Wheel Spindle

I assume that in replacing the front wheel you also replaced the discs, as a warped disc would be the first place I would look when considering juddering under braking? Do you have the tools, or know someone that could check disc runout with a dial gauge? If you want to try another wheel spindle I h...

Re: SORTED: R1100S Side Stand

Job Jobbed, thanks to Chester Motorrad actually being open, answering their phone and even more remarkably having the required pivot bolt in stock (along with the stand switch circlip/lock ring). Parts guy, Gary, was a bit cheesed off to hear that he was working when neither Bowker (Preston) or Will...

Re: WANTED: R1100S Side Stand

Stand arrived from motorworks today :D It needs painting but otherwise in good condition and is noticeably longer so looking forward to get it fitted. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49973793878_5fd2b9b123_c.jpg DSC_0070 1 by jeznewsome , on Flickr Took the old one off, with the Csk Bolt coming ...

Re: WANTED: R1100S Side Stand

Got hold of Motorworks again today and after a couple of hours they called back saying that they have found a 'long' stand :D, which is winging it's way to me.

Thankfully no longer a need for cutting a welding a normal one.

Re: WANTED: R1100S Side Stand

I have a short paralever arm and a long shock. The bike looks like it is leaned over too far and looks far better with a 1/2 piece of wood underneath the foot of the stand. I have an angle gauge somewhere so will actually take some measurements vertical and on the stand in the next couple of days. A...

WANTED: R1100S Side Stand

Looking for a Side Stand - ideally one of the longer ones Sports Suspension or Boxer Cup Rep. Or anything considered as if I can't get a long one I'll extend one. Looking for something in the UK if possible. I'll try Motorworks again tomorrow, I know that they have normal ones but they took mu numbe...

Re: A bit confused here ....

Interesting stuff Gerry......perhaps you should hang on to the old girl (and yes it is an R1100S). Aside from problems with the front shock, which was rebuilt under my ownership I never had a problem with the suspension/handling.

Keep enjoying her while you can Gerry :D

Re: Anyone been for a ride yet?

Seeing as it seems to be open season I did 110 miles, solo, on the HP2 today, first time it's been even started since Sept last year. A few foibles aside it is a lovely machine. My wrists aren't used to non stop riding; whilst I went past a number of 'biker stops' during the ride there were far too ...

Re: SORN

All but my R1100S were SORN'd over winter but I had Taxed the 1290GT in March for it's yearly service and some riding.....SORN'd that again this morning as they'll be no decent chance to ride it in April at least. :x

Re: Closed ....

Keep safe Gerry, I expect that there will be further restrictions in the UK and sadly it'll go on a lot longer than the currently advertised 3 weeks. At least there are plenty of things for me to fiddle with in the garage such that when the restrictions are lifted the two wheeled toys (motorised and...

Re: MoT's extended

Took a break from WFH today and took that Kat for it's MoT. It passed :D and therefore I'll be able to tax it immediately these measures are lifted. Local shop is only open with a single mechanic for maintenance work and the owners to do the few MoTs that will be required before the March 30th deadl...
