I can certainly understand! I just hope we get some decent dry and warmish weather later in the year

Re: "Is it Spring Yet?"

My 1100S is all XCP'd up and being ridden most days to work since the start of the year. As you say the weather has been relatively kind so far but a little snow (though disruptive to my preferred 'motorcycle' commute) would be nice :D

Re: cam chain tensioner

If the LH tensioner has a 17mm head on it then it is the original tensioner type. Later type has a 15mm head. It appears that the only parts listed on the 'fiche' is the later version (3 parts, inc the copper gasket); 11 31 7 688 629 CYLINDER F CHAIN TENSIONER, LEFT 11 31 7 656 922 PISTON LEFT 07 11...

Re: spark plugs

The last car I had with spark plugs only required them to be changed at 60K miles! I figure that modern fuel injection, ignitions systems and relative consistency of mixture mean that they last a shed load longer than they used to.......but as you have found they are more expensive than they used to...

Brake is 16mm and clutch 13mm (according to the parts list I can find). I'll have a look at the venhill site

Re: R1100S Master Cylinder (Front Brake and Clutch) Refurb Parts

Hmmm ...... dropped into a dealer today and the piston and dust boot come to £77.45 which is a little steep, especially as the nissin repair kit for the buell was around a 1/3 of that cost.

I know brakes need to be right but that is a bonkers cost.

Re: A bit of an eye opener today

Sounds like you at least had some fun with yours over the weekend, all I have done is clean, XCP and polish mine.....it'll be a shame to get it wet and dirty on the way to work tomorrow morning.

R1100S Master Cylinder (Front Brake and Clutch) Refurb Parts

Having seen a post on Facebook where the front brake master cylinder had dumped it's fluid on the RH Fairing paintwork and also having had a problem with the front brake master on my similar age Buell S1W I figured it might be a good idea to refurb the master cylinders when I change the bars to the ...

Pleasant Surprises on my recent R1100S purchase

My recent R1100S purchase has been pushing back at me on occasions when doing a little work on it. A previous owner replacing some fasteners with dome head stainless fasteners in a number of places - bloody things have reduced depth smaller allen key heads, which combined with a complete lack to ant...

That still the R1100S you bought off me Gerry? If so I am pleased that it is being looked after and getting some use. I have just bought another one.

Re: R1100S Handlebars....low and high standards?

Yup appears I have the comfort option, they are exactly as per your photos. Ta

I have found a pair of under yoke bars on eBay. Just a matter of being bothered to fit then, as the bike has heated grips.

Perhaps I'll see how comfortable they are for a while :D
