The relationship between speedo reading and true speed changes slightly depending on whether the rear tyre is new or worn.

I hope your rear tyre is really worn, good luck!

Thanks for this, its a fairly new tyre , only max a thousand miles .

What real speed ???

I went through a speed trap today, brain fade .... My fault . Its a 120kph zone, I was doing 80 mph, slightly over 120 kph. If any one has any idea of the rough over read percentage on the standard R1100S, with the smaller wheel , and standard tyres, I'll sleep a bit better , hopefully not throwing ...

Re: Ethanol Fuel Stabilizer

Thanks Jez, ja, I saw some thing on yew choob a while ago, this chap mixing water, then decanting the waste . I'll try the Motul stuff, saw it advertised on a forum some where, but wondered, before I stuff it into my Suzuki . Some Repsol stations sell 98 octane here , but I'd guess these days there ...

Re: BMW R1100S in Spain

Yes Neil , its on a few Spanish sales sites here . A bit more expensive, second hand bikes and cars have a higher value, too cheap and they will think some thing is wrong with it . With regards to the licence issue , its all a bit confused to be honest, mainly due to the brexit fiasco, rules we all ...

Re: BMW R1100S in Spain

Well, after a few wheel kickers, and a bloke who definitely wanted it because he had the same type of bike 15 years ago, then ducked out of the sale when I wanted to show him the bike .... Its now back on the market . My Suzuki is being registered as a Spanish bike now , so due to becoming a pension...

Looks like here in South West Spain , the sunshine is back again . Well to be honest , its been sunny most of winter, but we've had a few days of frosty mornings, and temps of max 12C. But its back to 20s in the mid day sun, and warm nights again !! From what my children were posting over the weeken...

Re: Hibernating

Well, here we are not in a full lock down , but are restricted to our own areas , so not too bad on the whole. I've now done everything to my supermotard , so this week, can start the long red tape ensnared business of matriculating it to Spanish plates. Summer time will be welcomed, been unusually ...

Re: Bike turning over slowly

Could this be a starter motor issue ? After our big floods last year, a lot of vehicles that were in water up to the door seals , had alternator and starter motor issues, basically they seized up due to the crap that had got in, the damp and dried out with all this inside. No idea if your starter mo...

Re: Boxertrix Roll of Honour: Most prolific posters

I was shocked to see my name there .... Living here in sunny Spain, riding a few times a week, I don't spend nearly as much time on the web, as I used to , when I was "toiling" for a living in UK. It hardly seems like work, being a garden boy / pool cleaner out here !!! Who knows, with any...
