Re: Dreaded insurance

I'm 40 and live in south staffs. My multi-bike policy is through Hastings Direct, that's my R1100S and a Vespa GTS300 excluding commuting and it's just over £200 with 4000 miles per year on the 1100 and 3000 on the GTS.

Re: Red front indicator surrounds

Hi all So after spending a little time with my R11s I have realised one small that's not to my liking is the aesthetics of the front end. More specifically the front indicator surrounds. Well it's the colour really. I'd prefer them to be red like rest of the bike. Super fussy I know. Anyone know if...

Spotted around Belper on the A6

Saw another R1100S yesterday for the first time since riding mine. It was a red one. The owner gave me a big nod and a double take, as did I with them. Was coming down the A6 from Matlock direction toward Derby.

So hi if you're a trixter! 8)

Re: Selling Your Used Motorcycle

Both of the above have worked well for me over the years. The problem with advertising on forums or facebook groups is that they're dedicated to that particular model, so often the members already have them. So you're narrowing yourself down to the people that join these places first before buying. ...

That's one heck of a tidy bike. If you're not in a rush, I personally think you could get more. It's a bit of a bargain at the moment.

Re: Fitting decat Y piece/ cat removal

Actually, I was thinking along the lines of cutting up a drinks can. Thanks Steve. It's just interesting to hear how people have overcome it in the past. At least it's thin enough to cut with decent scissors, so easy to shape.

Re: Fitting decat Y piece/ cat removal

Again, thanks for the replies. The use of a mallet got it shifted. So I now have a few questions specific to the Danmoto Y pipe. I'd say the fitting isn't too bad, however I'm not happy with the poxy mounting bracket. Almost doesn't seem worth having, what have others done with this fixing? I've not...

Re: Fitting decat Y piece/ cat removal

Thanks for the replies. After having a poke around with a torch I'd kind of presumed the back boxes were just hanging so need to be knocked out. Yes the bolts that connect the headers to the cat came out no problem. The nut that holds that silly strap that connects the cat pipe to the back box pipe ...

Fitting decat Y piece/ cat removal

Afternoon all! Given the rubbish weather a decided to do a bit of spannering in the garage. Only problem is I’ve not really got room. Anyway with a bit of stretching over/ under the bike I’ve got all of the fittings undone ready to remove the cat. As I can’t really get to the back of the bike I’ve d...

Re: R1100S throttle response

A bit old this post - but have only today tried it out :) I made my own though - easily done by using a cutout from a 2-inch diameter plastic tube. With a bit of filing etc. it fits OK. From the grip side drill a small hole and countersink it for a locating screw to hold it in place (this is for sa...

Re: Hi

Hi! Yes, that engine paint pealing is a right pain. Mine's only got 15000 well cared for miles on the clock and it's looking a little rough round the fins now. They are certainly erm... different! Mine is my first beemer as to be honest, never been a fan. But it's a beemer with a bit of character an...

Re: Afternoon out

Nice!

Itching to get out on mine. The nicer weather can't come soon enough! In three winters of riding, this is by far the least I've ridden the bike. Not to mention the fact that I only had it just before christmas, so it's still got that new feeling.
