Re: Told to Self Isolate 15:30 Mon 16th March

Get well soon , I phoned my GP surgery recently ( not Covid 19 related , although I wasn't asked) to be told he was out sick for a week , I guess he's self isolating and I guess we're on our own for the duration If it's not Covid related

Re: Flip Lids ...

I have used a flip helmet in the past , but by coincidence when I stopped using it I accidently discovered the cause of some chronic neck / shoulder pain . I can only assume it was caused by the extra weight ? My current helmets weigh 1500gms or slightly less, I've weighed them ,( the actual stated ...

Re: spark plugs

Of all the things that fail on a modern vehicle ...... is a spark plug one of them? They rarely fail but maybe if you hook the bike up to a gas analyser you'll find it isn't performing as well as it should in the emissions dept or maybe it really is just a way of getting owners to part with their h...

Re: spark plugs

How much!! Replacement plugs for my 1200r lc should be changed at about 12k miles, They want about £13 each. Needless to say as the plugs looked great i will not be taking that advice. Chris. I think you'll find that replacing plugs at 12 k is called preventive maintenance, as opposed to replacing ...

There are three tensioners on the 1100 . You can purchase from , Main dealers , Motorworks, Motobins or James Sherlock, and I'm sure there are other sellers also.

Re: Tank bag for R1100S wanted please?

Hello Also, any information about different attachment methods for said tank bags would’ve appreciated? 2Twins The original BMw egg type bag hooks on directly at the front and rear of the tank . The Famsa bag has a base which hooks on to the tank and the bag then zips on to the base . I've found th...

I ) ! I think the colder denser air thing really works on Carburettor fed engines rather than injected - ) Feel free to explain to my pea sized brain  I'm familiar with iat sensors on injected engines but surely unless the carbed engine is running too rich or too hot or both, cold denser air ...

Re: Classic Motorcycle Mechanics R1100S Article

I did buy a couple of magazines to read over christmas one of which is CMM , and was surprised to see the 11S article in the January edition I bought . I haven't read the magazine yet and while it might be helpful there is probably better advice on here if you dig deep or youtube.

Re: R1100S Master Cylinder (Front Brake and Clutch) Refurb Parts

Anyone else done some refurbing of the master cylinders ? Not yet , but as mine is 20yrs old I've got it on my to do list... £60 odd stg seems to be the price generally for the repair kit and with brakes I don't usually begrudge spending money within reason balanced against brake failure !!

Re: R1100S- It just cut out

I have read your other post too , and in that one you mention the bike has low miles which should eliminate corroded connectors and the like but it's a difficult one to diagnose .. When the bike cut out did you happen to notice if the speedo / rev counter stopped working ? ( Hall sensor failure) war...
