Nik, Pleased that you had a great trip. I had Maxton on the first 1100S that I had. They were excellent and came with a lifetime rebuild guarantee. Maxton make shocks for lots of racers and, dare i say it, seem to be higher quality than Nitron. Last time I looked a pair was £1000 or just over, and t...

Maybe we'll see a glut of R1100s and R1200s on the second market next year ! This is probably the most appealing bike to that market since the 1100s went out of production. I say that because, although the 12 is a great bike ( I have one) it does not have the pillion and luggage capability of the 11...

Fuel consumption R1200s ... read on
Okay, not the most thrilling of subjects but please let me continue. I have and my bike for 18 months now, and have read various bits and pieces on fuel consumption where the consensus seems to be that the fuel light comes on about 120-130 miles? Well, mine consistently comes on about 150- 160miles....

Eyore, I had an R1100s and bought a 1200s to go with it thinking that I would have the best of both worlds. But, within a month the 1100s was up for sale. It is a great bike, but the 1200 was just quicker, lighter, better handling - only natural when you consider BMW brought it out as a development ...

My wife has an F800S. She loves it. Economy is outstanding, its comfortable and light to handle. Quick enough to cruise at 95 all day if required. Belt drive is quiet and clean. Luggage capacity is great either with seat bag or panniers. We have put fairing lowers on, plus Akra can and ST screen. Pl...

Interesting topic. I have an R1200S and bought a K1100RS to supplement it. I love it. 1997 and absolutely quick enough, plus modern enough to have good brakes and strong engine. New enough to make spares available and reliable enough to start first time when i go to the garage after a coupe of weeks...

I know this might be a few seconds in our lives that we never get back, but FWIW I do not think that a flashing 'normal' brake light can also be considered a 'special' warning lamp  I think the Merc example passes as it only happens in certain circumstances and they will have submitted the car...
