Thank you for help with oil recommendations I have ordered 75w90 semi synthetic oil for winter use in my final drive unit and the five speed gearbox with intentions of changing it to 90 SAE oil for summer use and 20w50 mineral oil for my engine for winter and summer use.

Good idea! :lol: The aluminium gadget just slides over the coil end, so unless you're really hamfisted, it doesn't actually contact any paint - the end of it is easy to hold between thumb and forefinger, so there's more than enough purchase to pull the coil out. No, they don't need to be. I've never had an original one - I think they're a metal spring thing that hooks round opposite sides of the coil end to give you the 'grip' needed to pull it off. They're very similar to the ones that come with cars to pull off wheelnut caps. The one in the link appealed...

I found you really do need a Thin wall socket for the centre spark plug - I had a set of thin walled sockets but still ended up buying the one from MotorWorks and yes you do need the tool to pull out the stick coil. I have not looked in tool kit yet lets hope tools are still in their if not I will ...

also when I try to change into first gear from second gear moving along it grinds but stationary it goes in no problem, Do I change gearbox oil if so what oil grade??or is this normal and first gear has to be only used when stationary ?? 1st gear is way to low to need when going along or cornering ...

I think the 850 has a cable clutch (my 1150 is hydraulic), if so I would start here with re-adjustment before looking at more expensive options.
