Re: Has Covid restrictions stopped people posting?

2021 so far .... one of my bikes (blue Diavel, only one currently MOT'd) has recently been out once for a 45 minute blast on the backroads locally around Auchterarder. After the snow cleared my 911 went essential food shopping once in Perth, there via Crieff. It also went into Perth last Thursday, a...

Re: Item you didn’t buy ...

Slightly off topic, not item but bike. Well where to begin really, far too many but the ONE I do remember 1982 maybe, I’d gone to Taunton to get my Honda CB250rs serviced and on my way home late Saturday afternoon I had to pass the now long gone Taunton Kawasaki dealer, and there it was, stood in t...

Couple of old photies

Earlier in lockdown 1 I put together a folder of photies of all my bikes from FS1E onwards, but one bike was missing. That was my first BMW, an F650ST that I had from 1998 to 1999. Happily I recently found the negatives of two photos taken in March 1999, on the day that the F650 left and was replace...

Re: R18 landed

I find these big cruisers interesting to look at - I like bikes in general - but I don't feel any compulsion to have one. A friend and neighbour waxed about the R18, but after seeing one he opted for a limited edition Triumph Bobber. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50407445806_229c73eaba_o.jpg b...

Re: A Wee Grampian Adventure Fri 17th July - Sun 19th July 2020

I've not been paying attention here .... missed this one completely. We are beyond disappointed ....... We live 4 miles from Gleneagles. Jenny especially is so sad she didn't see Peter on his bike ... she says. We had a lovely weekend that Friday / Saturday with second daughter and her partner visit...

Be careful what you wish for

It doesn't feel like a big impact at the moment because it has been slowly evolving through lockdown since I finished my last shift in Kazakhstan on 18th March, but I am about to enter the world of retirement . My assignment to Kazakhstan ends tomorrow on paper, on Monday I have a new contract with ...

Re: Anyone been for a ride yet?

Yipee, first ride of 2020 was executed safely yesterday. Our village golf course will open on Friday for paid up members. We have only ever played the course as visitors not being serious golfers. But improving our golf will add purpose to some of our walks. It turns out the membership secretary liv...

Sachsenring 2019

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48290765492_2bf610049e_o.jpg I have been a bit busy these last three weeks but I did want to post up some of my photies from our trip to Sachsenring, at least before the Summer holiday is over and Brno kicks off this weekend. So here is a link to an album which I...

Excellent

I'm just back from Kazakhstan and hadn't seen how much got into the article, pleasing the photo of Jenny made it. We are discussing plans for a follow up where MCN ride my bike and I ride theirs ... watch this space, or at least watch their space :D

Decrepit tyres

OK Boxertrix Land What is the general opinion on this ... when we went to Jedburgh for the ride out in 2012 I had new Pirelli Angels on the R1100S .... and they are still there, not yet worn out, still got some miles in them. Is there a point in time when they have to be replaced regardless of not b...

Re: *** Welsh Weekend 2019 *** - IS Done :D

Ladies and Gentlemen Looking back from Kazakhstan I'd like to make a belated thank you to the organising team and all who attended for a truly enjoyable weekend. On the Sunday we visited nearby Stokesay Castle for a jolly fine day out, and polished off our visit to Wales in a further fun evening wit...
