Re: MOT's for drivers
We do eyesight tests at the motor registry every time we renew our licence, regardless of age

Re: Nice video ... anyone for a road trip :D
Riding a big boxer on a trail like that is impressive, but I can't imagine it being much fun compared to riding a real offroader. IMHO Modern "scramblers" or "adventure bikes" are really just for Dirt roads not offroad. I'd hate to be riding one around the paddock or up a mountain.

They do seem to be using a bit more of the road than they are entitled to

Re: Helping Fellow Bikers
I'd like to think that I (and BoxerCup R) would have helped any traveller in need regardless of their mode of transport. There is too much petty and arbitrary tribalism in society. I don't feel much in common with the noisy trailbike riding teenagers speeding past me on the WALKING Trail, or the Har...

Re: SEAT COVER Replacement
You may need to tap the staples in with a hammer to fully seat them, unless you have a compressor and get an air stapler.

Re: Rear shock confusion
That's what I recon too.
But I suspect that, unless the spring is too soft, an extra 10mm or so length if available on the shock, magnified by the lever arm, may resolve the issue.

Re: Rear shock confusion
I may be wrong but it looks like that nut could be a lock nut for an overall length adjustment, rather than preload.
You may need to disconnect the shock to wind down the bottom yoke after releasing the locknut.

Re: Rear shock confusion
It's not two different types of shock illustrated, it's two different adjustments. The left side illustration shows the location for the rebound damping adjustment, the right side illustration shows the location of the remote preload adjustment on the right side of the bike, which works via a hydrau...

Re: Not bad for a cafe racer made from a R11S
What do you think would happen if by some miracle of science fiction, an R1100S was transported back to the Ace Cafe in the mid 60's? Would it "blow their minds" or would the patrons reject it till it was stripped naked of all plastic body panels and the electric starter converted to a kic...
