Re: Exhaust questions... Simple upgrade not going to plan!

Either on here on on pelican there is a thread of how to improve the flow in the standard exhaust. There is a lot of baffles and a 180 deg turn before some of the gasses goes to the second muffler. With some skill both cans can be opened and the baffles replaced, the internals improved and closed up...

Re: Yesterday

Nicely done, one of the better bikes BMW makes and congrats. Regarding new kit. Wait a bit and go to the NEC to try and pick up some bargains and have a look around. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

That is a bummer Steve but unfortunately in your line of work you have more interaction with bikers than any of us so the odd bit of sad news will be personal.

On the Boxers one of the cylinders runs leaner than the other one indicated by the colour. They all do that. He won't understand

Re: Fitting a Laser race exhaust.

The throttle bodies were a bit out despite my efforts. Gave Ian at Bike Motor Works a call and promptly visited him to have the bike fettled with. Throttle bodies are now spot on but there is still some unwanted vibration at higher RPM. Next would be a visit to a rolling road.

Re: Cleaning up the 11s

For bugs you will need something water soluable. Try Autoglym bug remover and a soft bristle brush.

Grease and grime - white spirits should do it, Bilthamber Surfex HD, GT85, WD40 cocktail etc.

The important bit is when you agitate it to use a soft bristle brush like horse hair or similar.
