Part exed my R1100s for a KTM superduke 2 months ago, and got knocked off it 5 weeks later. Total loss, so now looking at a replacement and I'm definitely not having another KTM.

What was wrong with the KTM?

Re: Cyclists v police!

I would have thought two a breast would be more dangerous from the point of view of vehicles overtaking. Surely it's safer to give vehicles as much space as possible to get passed, especially on country roads. But on a single lane road, the car can't overtake 2 cyclists riding abreast, whereas they...

Re: R1200s acquired

Hello, Sorry to hijack but your line: "I think the fuel temp sensor mod makes a worthwhile difference" interested me. This doesn't by any chance mean making the fuel gauge work which I thought was only available with the trip computer extra when new? This has been an issue (minor!) since ...

Re: Cyclists v police!

I am a cyclist. I commute approx 100 miles per week to and from work, and then try to have a longer ride with a mate at weekends. We ride 2 abreast on the lanes, however, when the road narrows, or is busy, we ride single file. If I am aware of someone who can't get by, we drop back to single file un...

Re: Cyclists v police!

What an absolute to55er that gobby cyclist is.

This is why people hate cyclists! I would have lost my patience and tasered the idiot.

Re: I didn't realize how bad things were

PCP deals are the short to mid term future of the industry. Very few people now buy new cars (with bikes going the same way), preferring to effectively lease. It means they can drive a car (or bike) they can't otherwise afford. I kind of understand it, but at the same time I time, as someone who pre...

Not farewell!

Well, after nearly 9 years with my 1200s, it shall be going off to its new owner tomorrow! I hope he gets as much enjoyment from it as I have. I dare say I shall feel a pang when it goes. I'll still no doubt be hanging around here, this is my favourite forum and I have some trolling to do. Now looki...

Re: Shock advice

WP is good quality suspension. If you had been forced to buy a s/h shock, I suspect you would have got more back selling the WP unit.

Re: Shock advice

Pics I have seen online only have one locknut.

If you think about it, the locknut is somewhat superfluous anyway, as the bracket can't rotate relative to the shock body once it's attached to the bike anyway. (If id does rotate, you have much bigger problems, haha).

Re: Brake caliper fixings

People frequently overtorque brake calliper bolts and they stretch. Probably original on a near 20 year old bike.
