Re: R1100S Integral ABS/Servo query
On that basis, check the fluid level at the ABS regulator first. Tried to attach the service procedures but the system would not accept pdf attachments :-( However the following links should locate the best I've found for you: 1. Nice!
Off BikeSales?
Without the balance shaft of the r12s, I've always been keen to know if there a noticeable vibration/harshness compared to the r12s?
Cheers!

Re: Replacing heated grip rubbers
I've grown to really like 'Grip Puppies' and have fitted them straight over the top of the existing OEM grip on all my R12 incl. R12S. See http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MOTORBIKE-AND-SCOOTER-HANDLE-BAR-GRIP-PUPPIES-/182214766464?epid=0&hash=item2a6cd8af80:g:MXsAAOSw0e9U1OEY Heating still works fine...
Re: ABS bleed
Correct! The servo-assisted EVO ABS on BMW models circa 2004-05, have this arrangement and require a more sofisicated fluid change / bleed procedure ... available on the net if req'd.

+1!
Mine came with PR4s, which I've been happy with so far for my purposes .. fine weather street recreation only riding. Am considering the Metzelor Roadtec 01 next time, after this evaluation https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EzcgeHLZMvw&feature=youtu.be .

Re: Rear shock removal
I didn't have to, but in hind-sight probably easier with a bit of heat & less risk of thread/screw-head damage. BMW use threadlock & is recommended for reassembly. I'd only use blue threadlock.
