Advice on selling

Unfortunately its time for the 1200S Humbug to be sold due to the imminent arrival of a replacement and I thought i would ask opinions on what the esteemed members think might be the best way forward. I'm only asking as its a tricky thing when you have loved a bike for 12 years and I know you need t...

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S

Going to try that but have decided that the bike is going due to not having sufficient time to carry out all the bits. Put new fork seals in and new battery at the weekend so if anyone is looking for a project

Re: Strange vibration on my R1100S

Had mine checked at 90,000 miles and the mechanic said that they were bob on. I have never touched them or fiddled before so it seems to have managed all on its own. Its been thrashed within an inch of its life on trackdays, toured the Pyrenees a couple of times and performed in all weathers. Yes I ...

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S

Well, went for a spin today of about 150 miles to see what was going on. No clutch slip at all in any gear but when riding for a few miles on fast A roads without gear changes, the lever was close to the bar when making the first few changes but moved out after two or three. Not losing any fluid in ...

Great touring bike with panniers and tailpack you have plenty of room. Done two 2500 mile tours with no problems at all.

Re: Pyrenees, North Spain

Its a great mix of roads with great surfaces. If you do get some time, from Sort, search out the C1130. So worth it.

Re: Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport

Looks like it although I don't remember the one on the bevel box end it must have been there.
I think I would have had a harder job finding a second hand one for the HP2 S than the 12S which is why it cost so much :D

Re: Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport

Yes there was a snap ring on the gearbox end. I know the actual shaft for the 12S is specific and cannot be interchanged with any other as when I snapped mine, it cost £545 from BMW as they cannot be found second hand and are different from the GS or 11S according to them.

Re: R1200S Akrapovic exhaust wanted

In the owners manual you lose 10% of the power if you use the lower octane fuel. Something to do with the anti knock sensors. I always try to use the good stuff but don't worry too much if I have to use lower octane now and again.

Re: Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport

I know you can on the 1200s having done it myself. Its not the easiest as it seems to only come out and go back in to the swingarm housing on the third Friday of a blood moon when the villagers are dancing around the willow by the stream. Took me an hour to get it back in, everything needs to line u...

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S

Hi Hayden Its still in the air at the moment, I have not had a chance to test ride it to confirm my fears. My main concern is the rest of the bike at 107.5K, whats next to go? I have however changed discs, shaft, oil cooler, suspension, covered the seats and changed the front wheel bearings 5 times ...
