Re: Cyclists

Years ago when i lived in the uk, on a farm and working other farms, i some times got some kind of abuse form motorists as well. Yes, cyclist are an easy target but any thing that was slower would annoy them. One time tractor trailer, weighing about 7000kg i would say, getting along at 19mph, i had ...

Re: Cyclists

I am a cyclist as well, not as many km as I used to but still do ride pushies. Its the same here in Australia, but seems to vary by area. I am in the Far North, a city, but not that many people really, wide roads, shoulders, and still some people will ride three abreast. There are also people that t...

Re: *ACCIDENT*

When I had my incidnet, I was SO lucky that issurance didnt write it off I feel. local dealer repalced so much that I considered fair wear and tear, the cost was really high. I only wanted a new set of panniers that I am working on selling. Your insurance assessor may look at everything and consider...

Re: Tips on How to ride a R1100S

You do mention the drive shaft. Find out if the final drive or paralever have been removed recently, most likely for the Final Drive pivot bearing replacement. The drive shaft is re-assembled out of phase, it can have the effect you are describing. YEARS ago, I did the Final Drive pivot bearings on ...

Re: Engine rebuild,

I think you are in the UK from you profile picture (the flag) dont know where Check this thread on UKGSER - the engine was buggered with a cross threaded sump bolt, but stripped down, repaired, and then reassembled. There are contacts in the thread as to who did it. Also Steptoe may be able to help....

Re: MotoGP

I neithrr boo nor cheer when he or another crashes out. That is wrong.

I enjoy watching MotoGP for the action, the thrills regardless of the number/team/ rider.

I would watch superbike as well if i could, and moto 3 and moto 2, but my TV doesnt allow that.

Re: MotoGP

maybe another rider has better statistics, but I think in recent years, lets say the last 18, the difference in ability of the bikes is much less than 50years ago. Therefore, its harder to get a edge, a large delta, larger margin and so it takes more balls, increased risk, higher skill. I remember t...

Re: MotoGP

I thought it was a thrilling race!
right from the green Go! light right to the end.
It looked like a 'fast' race. Sure, they are fast, but they seemed faster than usual - not that I watch every race with detail, I watch it for the action, the moves, the thrills

oh, and Rossi - GOAT!

Re: How long do oe throttle cables last ?

Dont apply an lube down the cables. It affects the lining and they get stiffer / jam / sticky Check the bowden box for dust / gunk etc Dont know about replacing the cables on the 1100S, but on the GS, whilst not really difficult, is fiddaly and takes time Access on the 1100S probably makes it diffic...
