fitting Laser Y piece

Finally about to fit my Y pipe today, any tips or issues I should know about?
will I need new gaskets/compound?
do I really have to take off numberplate bracket and silencers?

any help much appreciated as I'm a complete numpty when it comes to spanner twirling

Hmm interesting!, I finally got around to fitting my induct today along with K& N filter. Am having trouble aligning the front section of the induct to the 2 mounting holes on the bracket, I used the rubber gromet off the OE induct to join the two pieces together...did you have any such problem?...

Just been shopping around for prices on remus road cans & Y piece for my 02 S, £505 from motorworks, I'm really tempted, especially as straightline quoted £620 for the same kit.
