JC's had the bike fixed by Tuesday but I didn't get in till yesterday to pick it up. They replaced the seal and brake pads so we'll see how it goes.

Was that your 1200S in there? Akra exhaust and carbon belly pan, looked very nice.

Don't know about sealed for life as JC's have sent to Germany for a tool to repair it (big hammer :?: ). Maybe they were telling the truth when they said it was the first failure they personally had had, altho. they knew it was a problem. It hadn't lost too much oil when they measured what was left....

Can I have my old bike back?

1200GS, 450 miles (yes 450  ); rear wheel, brake, tyre covered in oil as final drive seal appears to have given up the ghost  . I was at home after a 150 mile run yesterday when I discovered it but looking back suspect it's been weeping slightly since I got it. It's just been carted off t...

Symptoms weren't exactly the same but my ABS problem was a misaligned rear ABS sensor. It happened the day before it sold it. The dealer diagnosed and fixed it for £50, which I count as a lucky escape :) .

There is a suitable switched supply and earth on the back of the instrument panel that I (and others) used to power a Garmin Quest and similar. There is a thread on here somewhere detailing the colours. Failing that you can check out the terminals with a voltmeter to confirm the ones to use. I'll ha...

There's a survey somewhere on here that showed 020's as the most popular choice which suggests they're OK. Certainly I've been happy with them, but tyre choice is a VERY personal thing

It was new - well unregistered at least. But I think I need to find out when it was built.

Should have closed the loop, forgot  . The reason it wouldn't go was a fault on the rear ABS sensor as Stoney suggested. Not quite sure of all the details as I didn't get to speak to the technician but the invoice says they repaired a fault on the loom. Anyway at £50 it could have been a lot w...

I admit I probably cleaned it a little too much, but it has been used as well, about 15K in the photo; Nurbergring, Spain, Switzerland, Italy etc. I think they may have changed the design of the pipes. The ones I had did away with the rubber mounting behind the engine. Instead they bolted on via the...

On the system I fitted the bracket attached to the left lower rear subframe mount. You can just about see it on the photo below. Is that the same as your system?

Hope this helps.
