Re: The time has arrived

Likewise I am sorry to hear your news. Words can't express feelings about this disease but my thoughts are with you and your family.

Re: Carbon lid

I have a Shark ExploreR which is a carbon aramid mix. Fits really well and is light with great vision through the max sized anti fog visor. I wear it rather than my Schuberth if I am going on longer journeys or wearing my glasses instead of contact lenses. Would recommend based on my experience.

Re: Suspension & Piano Playing

Had mine set up yesterday by Ian at Etto Motorcycles near Bingham in Nottinghamshire. Its a bit of a dark art but Ian explained clearly what he was doing and why and made suggestions on future tweaks depending on what I felt when riding. Best £50 I have spent for a long time, bike felt immediately ...

Re: One fewer R1200S...

Been there and empathise with the loss of your bike but the fact that everyone is ok is the most important.
As Grip Fast asked, anything we could learn from your experience?

Re: Shock Horror

Upped the preload on the spring by a couple of turns and the bike is handling very well. Need a trackday to see how good it is but its promising so far. Going to get the suspension set up by Etto Motorcycles near Nottingham in the next couple of weeks and the TB's balanced on 15th so alls looking go...

Re: Shock Horror

Small update, purchased a Hagon front shock from Motobins as the Ohlins was beyond economical repair according to a specialist. The Hagon looks to be good quality and has the same adjustments as the Ohlins. The only thing different in the construction was the lack of allen key socket in the top rod ...

Re: Nwebie with R1200S

It depends on what you want to do with it really. I have tried Pilot Road, Conti motion and now on Conti Sport Attacks. All have been fine, the bike is a bit slower steering with the 190 rear on it.

Re: Rear Drive Bearing

As far as I am aware, there should be no movement at the rear wheel. I presume you mean side to side movement.
My bearings were replaced by Mike Overy at Overland and there was an almost minuscule amount of movement.
