Got 14k miles on mine. No problems so far. Finishing is better then on my former '99 R1100S; no corroding bolts, paint is still holding even after riding through 'winter' (rather mild one, but still lots of salt on the road).

Faultless performance up to now.

It is the perfect companion to my Vel Satis. ... this is the first and only good reason to buy one, I've heard 'till now. I had one for a loaner for a week and agree with all your observations.... but then again if you compare it to R1100S it's not better: it is in the touring department (wind prot...

Re: RiDE R1100S article

Hi guys, If any of you would like to tell me the good and bad about R1100S ownership, I'd love to hear from you. Ben RiDE Good: telelever front. Makes it a very good tracking bike, not upset by bumps or potholes. I can't get used to telescopic front any more. Another good thing (here in the Netherl...

Hmmm.... sure looks better from the saddle then from the side. Maybe it will grow on me. That would be a good thing: I'll be riding it 'till I'm eighty! Nice set of levers too.

You´ll need to attach the front indicators in some way, cos they normally in the side pods. Beside that, I don´t see any problem.

I just read a test of this Lidl gear in a Dutch magazine. In short: The Helmet: - it does not have the proper ECE approval tags in/on the helmet and visor - it has a sticker saying it is tested by the TuV .... on the release of noxious fumes in case of scalding :? - look for yourself: http://www.tuv...
