Thanks for the info.
Looks like the previous owner should really have fitted a 180/55-17 tyre.
Guess I'd better check with Dunlop to see if it's gonna be a safety issue.......

R1200S Tyres
Just checking over my lovely, newly purchased R1200S. Looks like the previous owner has fitted an oversized rear tyre. The rear wheel is marked 17xMT550 & the rear tyre is a 190/50 17. Would this be a 6" tyre fitted to a standard 5.5" wheel? If so, just wondered if it's going to be a p...

R1200S - Wet feet
A couple of days ago I bought my first R1200S, and very impressed I am with it too. In comparison with my R1100S it feels more compact. nimble and way more powerful. Love it........ :) My first ride was in the rain and I couldn't help noticing that it has the same issue as a previous R1200GS - water...

R1200S servo brakes
I'm thinking of buying an R1200S.
From what I've read, it looks like it might be an idea to avoid servo brakes.
Does anyone know when BMW stopped fitting servo brakes to the R1200S?
Also, how do you tell the difference between servo and non-servo brakes?
Cheers......

I actually live in Brixton - outside the congestion Zone but within the North/South Circular area. The original Boris Johnson proposal was for the Ultra low Emission Zone to be implemented within the Congestion Zone from September 2020. As I understand it, the new mayor, Sadiq Khan is looking to cha...
Euro 3
Just wondered if anyone knows if the twin spark R1100S models (2003 onwards) meet the Euro 3 emissions specifications?
I live in London and this is likely to become an issue once they bring in the Ultra Low Emission Zone.........

Thanks++ for your helpful response. I checked the fuses but they were all OK When I find myself a voltmeter I'll use that to check the heated grip wiring as you have suggested. I finally found the source of the problem with the brake lights - it was nothing to do with me disturbing wiring after all....

Brake light failure R1100S
Lifted the tank on my 2001 R1100S today to check if a faulty connector was the cause of left side heated grip failure. Put it all back together, still no heat to the left grip and now there is no brake light either.... ...... :( I fitted a new tail bulb and checked what wiring I could, but no joy. N...
