I have seen it done, but the guy simply fitted an aftermarket end piece after the cat. It looked OK, but I can't imagine it helped the fuelling any.

Where did that picture come from? I presume it is a mock up / photoshop?

Definitely take him up on his offer Mr Boxercup R. Good beer and good roads down that way. The Germans are very hospitable.

Castrol 20W/50. Its what BMW (used to) recommend, so I go along with that. I don't see much sense trying to save a few quid given the limited miles I do. Annual service, oil and filter, £50ish from Opie. Job done.

It looks like the DOHC engine, so not 12s. Maybe 12r?
