Re: Bl**dy heck!!!

What with this and Paul’s comment on Corsica (on my ‘do list’) I’m thinking about buying a Unimog.

Re: My Route App

You’re well ahead of me to the party TT. I have played around with MyRoutes on the phone and it’s pretty good but I haven’t used it in anger yet. Mostly because I haven’t a scooby htf you get it to the google map part of the phone. On the ferry to Rotterdam recently I realised that the chip for Euro...

Re: On the 'Cup again

£how £much?
Similar price for the 1100S?
I have a yellow cover on a shelf in the garage from years ago. Going to buy some velcro tomorrow and get it on the light before the next ride.
I have to say, the RM bikes do look the part. I never saw them race in anger which is a shame.

Re: Key problem

3 weeks? Seems a bit long. 22 hours from BMW but that was for a 1200S key. I was told they cut them in London.

Re: Tank support bolt

Ha! I didn’t think of that Simon. Since swearing and shouting didn’t work, I had a coffee and a sarnie. Refreshed I actually got it done. Quite why it was such a pig I don’t know but happy days it’s sorted. Since I’m typing ... put new front brake hoses on and bled them. I tried the trick I’ve read ...

Tank support bolt

On the left hand side is not going to be used on my upcoming trip. Goddamn almost impossible to put it in and tighten it with the Lennies and San Jose airbox. I say almost because I managed it before somehow but the old magic touch is long gone. A real chicken and egg going on here and I’m not talki...

Re: Bar risers

Nice difference isn’t it? I did that last year outside a hotel in Germany whilst touring, along with lowering the foot pegs (thanks again to the guys that helped me out on here). To be honest it’s F’ed the bike up from it’s sporty position and still isn’t really good enough for touring. YMMV as they...

Re: Clutch slipping- help R1100S

In the first photo there are pieces missing from the bottom of the pressure plate. No doubt causing the mechanical damage to the plate itself. There are also signs of damage on the new plate as well. What is the metal ring on the right hand side on the inner circumference? It doesn’t look healthy bu...

Re: Self Indulgence .....

When I saw the thread title I assumed it would be about a bottle of whiskey! And why not? That is impressive Steve, it shows a huge self discipline to achieve that loss. Well done. I tried to lose some weight at the start of June. I managed eleven days before I fell off the wagon back into the warmi...

Re: European Breakdown

I don’t want to be carrying spares and tools though Gerry, I will be loaded up with camping paraphernalia. Plenty enough of BMW bike shops around to wield the spammers for me! I’m just looking for an easy stress free way of getting the bike there should the worst happen. I only intend to ride betwee...

European Breakdown

My AA European breakdown cover has increased by almost a third from £141 to £187. No explanation for the increase either which is annoying. I spent a while loooking for alternative quotes but drew a blank. My 19 year old bike is deemed too much of a risk for any other company that I could find. New ...
