I suspect the Aviva Plus thing is only if you are Directly insured with Aviva not via the agency of Bennetts or Carole Nash

Re: new to me R1100s - bodge fixing #1: Rear light

I am a great believer in the fact that 9 out of 10 drivers won't see you what ever you do but having the brightest front light on in daylight cannot hurt your chances of being seen. :D

Re: Dash Can not Helemt cam

I decided to have the head unit in view and effectively use it as a "blind spot" mirror as on rides out with the club sometimes when your are traffic lights the bu**ers get so close behind you that you can't see 'em in your mirrors. But I take your point sticking it out of the way under th...

Dash Cam not Helemt cam

So not wanting to put up with extra wind noise or buffeting from a helmet camera I looked for an alternative for bikes and found this one on Amazon for £35 plus the cost of a Micro SD card. It took a couple of hours to fit including figuring out where / how to mount the unit and cameras and hide the...

Re: R1200ST - Nice, low mileage, wanted

You may struggle as there only seem to be 183 in use https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/bmw_r_1200_st

I too reduced their number in 2013 when I had one written off after an Australian woman drove into the side of me.

Re: 5 countries in 4 day

Great write up and trip.

As you say easy to do 5 countries - on a trip to the Nurbergring in 2010 the route involved England, France, Belgium, Holland (about 15 miles) and Germany :D And no Sat Nav back then just a map book a list of road numbers :D
