I suspect the Aviva Plus thing is only if you are Directly insured with Aviva not via the agency of Bennetts or Carole Nash

I am a great believer in the fact that 9 out of 10 drivers won't see you what ever you do but having the brightest front light on in daylight cannot hurt your chances of being seen.

Great write up and trip.
As you say easy to do 5 countries - on a trip to the Nurbergring in 2010 the route involved England, France, Belgium, Holland (about 15 miles) and Germany And no Sat Nav back then just a map book a list of road numbers
