Re: Bcr rev counter bulbs.

It's ages since I replaced those bulbs on my 1100S ,I removed the speedo unit and dismantled it , also cleaning the inside of the glass but from memory after removing the fairing panels I think it would be possible to remove the rubber bulb holders from underneath.... if you have small hands , I can...

Re: To Iridium or not. That is the question

I don't have a 12s but a long time ago I fitted Iridium to my 11S and my Bullet 500... neither run noticeably better or worse but I do feel that the 11S starts better from cold.

Re: Play at top yolk? Ball joint, bearing or both?

There is no bearing on the R11s , just the upr and lwr balljoint. I've never had to remove mine yet so no help to you . Maybe just try re torquing the small nut (on the wishbone side ,) I'm sure over the years a couple on here found that sorted it.

Re: Barbacks: Rapid Dog's vs Moto-CNC's

It's years ago now but I fitted something like ACA66689 from Motorworks. I'm sure someone else got a plate machined in aluminium which fitted to the original mounts and then secured the original footpeg mount to this . I can't find the original thread but from (a fading) memory it was aesthetically ...

Re: Barbacks: Rapid Dog's vs Moto-CNC's

Obviously it's your own choice but as above, I've used Rapid dog barbacks above the top yoke with no issues on and off over the years and come to think of it I currently have BMW comfort bars ( with the peg on the bottom of the bars) below the top yoke, again with no issues (110k miles in my ownersh...

Re: Insuring a bike bought in Germany?

Afaik if you want to ride the bike in Germany you have to purchase a temporary German registration and insurance (export registration plate) for a specified period .

Re: Catalytic converter

As above the R1100S originally came with a cat ?. There are numerous threads on other forums with happy outcomes after fitting a converter.

Re: What do you think about a 99 r1100s with 32.000 on the clock?

As Paul says , check the fairing mounts but more importantly the sub frame mounts are a known weak point . Other than that , realistically it's just like any other 22 year old bike .. it could end up as a money pit . Check out for any unusual engine noises, are the transmission / clutch/ clutch hydr...

Re: R1100S REAR AND FRONT SPRING/COIL SET

I'm not sure if springs as standard are painted or powder coated , is it not just a matter of "refurbishing" the original springs?
