Re: I do not recommend BMW Welwyn Garden City
I don't think it is good business for a company to sell parts to customers on a 'sale or return' basis, where they install said parts - then return them when the problem isn't cured. If you want that facility - you get them to diagnose the fault and try parts in their facility, either from stock pa...

Re: I do not recommend BMW Welwyn Garden City
Humour me on this, just want to clarify, you ordered a part to fix a fault with the bike, turned out part wasn’t needed, was 1)bike with dealers for repair and they said part was needed, or 2) did you fault diagnose fault & order part to fix bike yourself and then find it wasn’t that part that ...

Re: I do not recommend BMW Welwyn Garden City
I know Paul. That RS is a cracking bike but I really have had enough of the dealers. In a knee jerk to keep me on the road I have had offered to me just yesterday out of the blue on another forum (and I took it) a mint (and I do mean showroom fresh fanatically looked after and properly sorted) 2005 ...

I do not recommend BMW Welwyn Garden City
Ordered an ignition module that turned out not to be the fault £80 part that they then refused to take back. An item that they had to get from central BMW spares but was toldthey usually keep in stock so no actual reason not to take back. This is now the usual standard of customer care from BMW havi...

Re: Not a BMW
I do like the look of the Guzzi engine, always have tbh and that bike looks lovely. Not for me but GLWTS :thumbleft: Did you do a write up on here of your trip to the Moto Guzzi factory ? Yeah, it's a beautiful thing alright. No, I didn't do a write up. I always meant to but I didn't take many Phot...

Oof. I never had the pleasure (by all accounts) of meeting him but I can’t believe it’s been twelve years!

Not a BMW (NOW SOLD)
Just on the off chance that someone is interested in something a bit different... I love this thing. That engine is a peach and I think it's an amazing looking bike but I'm just not built for it. I like my touring when I can and even just a day out i'll do up to 200 miles and I'm too creaky for this...

I hooked up the battery from my Guzzi and it’s the same deal. I’ve already checked the side stand switch. No fault found. Nice idea though, lots of people forget about the side stand.

Re: R12S no ignition
must admit i think topcats on the right theme here, sounds like a broken wire with that sort of voltage showing. Have you tried turning bars from lock to lock with the ignition on to see if there is any difference with the movement? Shouldn’t be any cables although I know that it does happen. The b...

Re: R12S no ignition
Thanks TC. I’ve checked all the cables and connections and they seem ok. I’ll order a new micro switch unit and see what happens. I think this is a fairly common occurrence with ignition switches in general.

R12S no ignition
Or dash or lights or starting. Just before Xmas I went to start the bike and the starter motor stayed on. I have recently changed the starter cluster as the old one failed and would stick on. Used replacement has been fine until then. I left it to deal with this year and am now having a different pr...

Re: France and Switzerland in the heatwave
the joy of panniers... Nice video and trip Paul. I used panniers once on a long weekend to Wales. I hit two cars, a tree, a frame on the entrance of a perimeter wall and my mates bike in a similar fashion to Richards collision with you but I took his indicator off. Never again. I sold them on my re...

Re: Irregular tickover
Hmmm, I did the valve clearances some time back and it didn't make any difference for me. I don't have any stalling. I think I might give the TPS a clout.

Re: Street fighter bars R1200S
I feel your pain, just back from 2480 miles from Nottingham to Pyrenees and back. Buttock bruises are still present. Got to say that the seat was the only real problem with the riding position for me although I think where the double bubble screen removes some wind blast, it also takes away the sup...
