I would run it from the battery with the original wiring ( for the horn ) triggering the relay (no.... really!)

Don't run it without a relay.

Re: GPS Syatem and Mounts

:D Looking for some help on what GPS system to get an the best fitting kit for the 1100S. I intend to use mainland UK and Ireland with some possible trips to Europe. Garmin are top of the list at present as they appear to have Ireland better mapped. However, I am told Tom Tom are catching up! Any h...

Must admit - I've been tempted to swap the Horn button with the Indicator cancel button. Not so much because the horn button is hard to find - more that I find the indicator cancel button awkward when trying to be precise with the throttle (exiting roundabouts etc). Someone high up in BMW is determi...

Hello You will if your not careful. The roads maybe drier but its cold and the roads will be dirty from salt.Maybe wait a bit longer before any heroics. Depends what size tyre you got on the back and what suspension setup.I found that the pegs touched first followed by the rear brake lever and heads...

That should cover all bases except a cruiser/custom - just couldn't bring myself to do it. Now if we could have 6 bikes I might just tag a Hog on the end :D Adam :) ("Dear Bank Manager"... ) Just be carefull - you don't want to be heard saying: "I love throwing my leg over the Fatboy" ...

I guess we are about to see how many R1100s-riding golfers there are?

Yeah - I'd have to agree with you now. I looked up the Flying Lions on the internet and they appear to be genuine, plus - I would agree with you on the stone-skipping analogy. Still don't fancy trying it though  Now - about this pic of Hitler........................................ Al :D

Is it possible to maintain that level of accuracy over water? I wouldn't have thought so. But - if no-one comes up with video footage on the internet, it's maybe safe to assume that the photos are fake? Now - I've got a photo of Hitler playing golf if anyone is interested  Al :D

the Haynes is a worthy purchase just for the colour pics of the encrusted/burnt out spark plugs and the fantastic trouble shooting sections. I'd forgotten about those - they used the same pic in all the manuals. I don't think they came from actual engines - I think they came from the bottom of the ...

I always think Haynes manuals are handy for putting on a shelf in the garage to make me think fondly about bikes I've owned in the past when looking at them. You're lucky - I just look at my scarred hands and missing digits to remind me  :pale: Bloody Haynes manuals should be accompanied by ...

The disc that I got (from that same site) appears to be the official BMW issue, so I can't see that a Haynes type manual is any benefit other than having some colour photos. (sometimes a picture helps though)

I can see how that shook you up!

I've had the same experience in the car when the fella in front (sorry - usually female) spots you indicating to pass............... and brakes!

Christ! The number of times I've almost clipped their wing!

Good reminder to us all
